Edmonton Cemetery — Local services in London

This USED to be a well maintened cemetary- been coming here for YEARS. However- 2 mths ago I was upset to find they’d put a plastic banner around our newly engraved headstone stating “UNSAFE-PHONE -THIS NUMBER”. I phoned Edmonton Cemetary & was told it was a MISTAKE!!!In the same call I complained about the big water tank being totally EMPTY for WEEKS-just an inch of brown mud at the bottom . 2 mths further on it is STILL empty, even after I complained by email to Enfield Council!! I take lots of heavy vases, weeding tools up when I go- I shouldn’t have to also take my own heavy bottles of water up there also because the cemetary can’t be bothered to re-fill their water...

It’s heartbreaking to see the condition of most of this once beautiful cemetery. It’s been completely neglected since Covid and no sign of things improving. As soon as you get past the neat and tidy frontage it’s a mass of weeds, overgrown grass and ivy going out of control. I complained to the Council but it’s fallen on deaf ears.
