I have to say when we started with Go View we had a good impression and I was tempted at the time to leave a positive review. However once we got into the property we had multiple issues - such as boiler not working correctly, uncleaned parts of the property, the fridge did not work, no table and chairs as requested, radiators did not work and when we requested a wardrobe (the landlord knowing full well there were two of us) we received one which was barely big enough to fit one person's clothes in. Similarly when we requested a sofa, we also received one which was incredibly small. It all felt cheap. When we said we were unhappy was no attempt at a compromise, we were stuck with the tiny wardrobe/sofa and ended up buying ourselves a wardrove twice the size, which we built ourselves.
Not great, but the issues were fixed (for the most part) during the tenancy. Why a broken fridge was not spotted earlier I am not sure.
However the real issues arrived when we left the property. Unfortunately due to some personal circumstances our leaving of the property was rushed (also partly because we had people visiting the property all the time, and we had to vacate due to the nature of our works) and there a few things missed such as a couple of lightbulbs / some marks above a door.
Just to replace the lightbulbs and apply quick coat of paint (a max 30min job at best) we were quoted to lose £250 out of our deposit. We were also charged £30 for not screwing in a chair (which we had to build ourselves, because the original table/chairs wasn't there) and penalised about £12 for a, "hairline crack" (as per inventory) in the fridge shelf which wasn't counted as wear and tear. However we were only told this cost almost a month after we moved out, and with new tenants arriving, we were told that we cannot replace them ourselves, leaving us out of pocket of £250 which anyone could fix for less than £20.
We understand things need to be fixed and definitely don't dispute that, but the fact we were told late robbed us of any chance we had to fix them ourselves, so we have to bear the cost of an electrician coming out to change the lightbulbs and a professional to paint the door. Given that we had multiple issues ourselves this wasn't taken consideration though, nor does it felt like anyone really listened even when mentioned that I had to take time off work during this period due to being so poorly.
Being sniped for not screwing something in we had to build ourselves (which should have been there already), or for a hairline crack feels almost pettiness and greed, given that the property we rented went up by over £250 after we had left.
In short, they'll only work to the letter of the law, not the spirit. If you ask for anything make sure you spell out EXACTLY what you need; don't expect them to be sensible and apply some logic. Left to their own devices you will just have the cheapest/tackiest thing they can get away with. There will be no compromise or support for you as a tenant, only for whatever...
Read moreMy husband and I worked with Morne and we couldn’t be more delighted with our experience! In preparation for our move to London we visited with the intent of letting a flat. We met with Morne on the first day, liked what we saw A LOT but still proceeded to meet with other agents to ensure fair consideration of all of our options.
On day two we were starting to feel a bit discouraged in between appointments, when all of the sudden Morne drove around a corner in Ealing Broadway, with his window rolled down, excitably telling us to check our email as he drove past like a letting agent lightening bolt. We checked our email, called him, cancelled our next appointments and found our place within the hour! It was PERFECT, we could hardly believe the quality of the flat compared to what we were shown by other companies! As if the deal couldn’t get any sweeter, Morne also went the extra mile in driving us all over the place to help us understand the neighborhood, public transit routes, nearby grocers, pharmacies, and coffee houses.
To ensure we’d have a shot at getting the owners attention, he explained Goview’s internal process and helped us submit an offer with competitive terms. Unsurprisingly, he also advocated for us to the owner and made us feel very comfortable throughout the post-application waiting process. When it was over, Morne walked down to the neighboring pub, where we waited for an update, to deliver the good news that our offer was accepted in person!
Pardon the rambling but the rental market in London is NO joke, it’s competitive, fast, and for us it was down right frustrating. It was hard to know who to trust because there were so many other companies that had us feeling a bit dejected about our options. But in the end, we were so pleased to end up in goview’s hands! They wasted no time in thoughtfully catering to our needs and of course, Morne expertly match us with a stunning flat!
Don’t hesitate to call them if you’re in...
Read moreRebecca McCarthy from GoView London Ealing was very helpful in finding a perfect flat in London for me, and made the whole process a very pleasant experience with no problems whatsoever. Starting with our first telephone call Rebecca was immediately able to grasp what I was looking for, and my requirements were for the flat. I wanted to see only the refurbished flats, and some other specific requirements conneced to location and avalability, and all three flats she has shown me were well chosen and exactly up to my requirements which saved me a lot of time and effort. As I have chosen the flat that I liked the most from all tree, Rebecca was able to provide very helpful information about how to process further, which led to sucessful and quick signing of the contract. Rebecca was very patient, informative and helpful in all requirements and questions I had during the signing of the contact. She gave me all necessary information about how to process further correctly as I was new to the flat search in London (I come from Vienna), She has always followed up the emails and messages, even on weekens, and even when I was travelling. The messages were answered within minutes and very helpful. I feel very lucky to meet such a helpful realtor which made my search for my new place in London such a pleasant and nice experience. The other members of the team of Go View who were involved in the process were very helpful as well, available for meeting and for any questions. I will definitely go back to this company for any other possible searches in future, and highly recommend them. Thank you very much, Rebecca and GoView...
