I just had the most horrific experience in this store, the ad says print Y map shop, my friend has brought his wife on a trip to London and he wanted to print a poem by Gustavo Adolfo Becker on special paper and handwriting as I read they do print I very kindly approached its owner and very kindly asked her if they could help me with that there, and with a gesture of discomfort, quite rude, she told me that if I didn't understand why they didn't do that there, I was surprised by her reaction and told her I apologized and told her, I'm sorry, I was just asking, but you don't have to be angry, she gave me an ugly look and kicked me out of the store, telling me that they were very busy. When I tried to talk to her again, she told me "get out of my store" and she repeated it three times, she kept throwing me out of her store, all my sin was asking if they could print something for me there, will it be that these people forget that they live and eat thanks to tourists. It has been my worst experience in London. How sad that there are such ungrateful people treating tourists badly, I insisted, they have business thanks...
Read moreThe Portobello Print & Map Shop is a unique gem of Notting Hill and London, which has been trading in the Antique Market of Portobello since 1988. What makes this place very special along with maps and prints, are the lovely faces of this business called William and Lindsey. I also think that their contagious passion and love for what they do are some of the reasons that make it one of the few surviving shops amidst the gentrification of Portobello Road.
No modern copies or reproductions here!!! Here you'll find a large selection of genuine antique prints, engravings and maps of all over the world. The wide selection of 18th and 19th century astronomical and celestial engravings together with many world maps and hemispher is incredible, and the knowledgeable and expert Mr. William will give any kind of explanation about them and answer to all your question;
I highly recommmend this unexpected place, where William and his Maps will make you travel all over the world and in...
