We booked this hotel via booking.com for our ten year wedding anniversary to be in the heart of notting hill and it had nice reviews. When we arrived from a day full of travelling to london it was raining and we both needed a shower, imagine our shock when there was no towels in our room. We asked at reception and were told there was a problem and they would be here soon, fast forward a few hours sat waiting in our room to have a shower before our dinner reservations, we asked again where the towels were. No towels, nothing, I just cant believe this is how this hotel operated, they were unwilling to do anything to make this right. We had to cancel our dinner reservations, the next morning, no towels still, it was over 24 hours of being in the hotel until towels came! On top of that, the staff were unwilling to help, i complained to booking.com and was offered a 20% discount on my next visit which i would never take as i wouldnt return to this hotel ever again.||The hotel was not a hotel it was more of a B&B at the lowest standard. The breakfast was basic cheap bread and the most basic tinned fruit, the room needed a whole lot of love.||If you want super basic B&B style accomodation and heaven forbid should they not have towels again, don't expect the staff to care, then this place could be for you.||If you want some level of standard and staff who want to help,...
Read moreHotel is handy for Notting Hill Gate tube being only a 5 minute walk away.||The site of the hotel is in a quiet and lovely neighbourhood but is also only a 10 minute walk from Queensway which has lots of pubs and places to eat.||Reception staff were helpful and the continental breakfast was fine.||The fixtures and fittings of the hotel however are dated and extremely basic.||It feels like walking into a 1930s museum.||The view from my room was a brick wall about 6 feet away from the window. The room was very warm and the only viable means of ventilation was to wedge the sash window open with the dustbin.||Noise from the building, other rooms and trains was audible well into the night.||For want of a better word some of the furniture in the room was manky. The desk chair was frankly embarrassing. It was very old and looked like it had been mauled by a tiger. I can’t understand why a hotelier with any integrity would think it was acceptable to furnish a room with such an item.||The breakfast room wasn’t large enough however fortunately the garden area had two small tables in it to use and fortunately the weather just happened to be okay to sit outside.||In short this hotel is cheap and for a lone traveler who wants a very basic one nights stay it is okay for the price. But personally from my experience I wouldn’t take my family here or stay for more...
Read moreLady behind counter was lovely the first day we arrived the room was clean but did notice the fridge ain't working so no point of a fridge really, then the shower had no where to hold it in place so I'd to hold it myself, the key for the door to lock it or open it was a nightmare couldn't get the key out of the lock would take a good 15 minutes to get the key out.. went for breakfast the following day and 2 women were sitting behind the counter didn't say good morning or great us just talking to each other and on there phones, we did out own breakfast which was poor, I used the last bowl for my daughters cereal then asked one of the lady's could I have a bowl only to be told no cause they are in the dishwasher she said use a cup instead which I didn't bother and she just carried on her phone as she looked annoyed that I disturbed her. I notice other people starting asking for bowls and she told them to use a cup which they did. I refuse to use a cup which is for tea and coffee. The food was poor not a lot of it not much selection. I wouldn't stay here again as I've stayed in London a few times and this is the worst hotel ever. And I paid £215.00 a night for a family room which I don't think it's...
