Was unfortunately a disappointing dining experience and probably our worst in Notting Hill. The tragic highlight was a gone off tiramisu, obvious from the first spoonful by the soured marscarpone and confirmed by the waiter that it was slightly off… they offered to replace the food with another dessert but it left a sour taste. Then, the lobster in the pasta didn’t have the sweet lobster flavour and was a bit chewy, giving an impressing that it was rather frozen than fresh. The sauce was quite heavy and the pasta overcooked. The calves liver was overcooked although mash potato was tasty but the portion was quite small. The waiter was advertising fish and lobster charismatically although I personally didn’t feel welcomed. Probably because he only looked at my (male) partner, as if he was the decision maker for both our meals. A bit of stomach ache after trying that tiramisu, a £120 bill and a massive disappointment. But olives were good.

I just wanted to write and say what a splendid birthday celebration I was given in August at The Brasseria. On arrival myself and my guests were plied with a bottle of champagne...the real thing! Which I have to say went down very swiftly. Terrific service and attendace to every whim. I had my favourite chicken Milanese which was spot on! My son and friends enjoyed theirs just as much. When my pudding arrived...again my favourite vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce was brought, there was a candle and scribed happy birthday in the chocolate sauce. The waiters surrounded the table and joined my guests in singing Happy Birthday to me. I felt extremely spoilt and had a VERY special birthday. All of these extras were delightful and surprising. I think the wonderful Maitre d'it David, may have had something to do with this :) Thank you Team Brasseria... love Hetty x

My third time here & the food still leaves a lot to be desired. I was hoping this would become our new local but until chef is fired, it won’t be. Unfortunately fabulous, subtle interiors are not enough to sustain the locals so I give it a year. Although table settings are classically beautiful, the food is not. Dishes appear reheated & not freshly made with many lacking in flavour & taste. Hard to visualise chef destroying classic Italian dishes so spectacularly but alas - Brasseria is your proof! No love from this chef. I now stick to a select few starters - carpaccio, calamari’s, buratta etc where I know chef can’t loose the plot completely. Prices are high given the circumstances but staff are always friendly & helpful & I do love the bars cocktails! Wish I’d taken a photo of the minestrone soup. Disgraceful.

AWFUL experience. We made a booking for 4 people indicating that we were coming with 2 prams. Saturday lunch time, they were very busy. The couple at the reception did welcome us with a poker face when they saw the prams, and he would say ‘How many human beings are you?’ Couldn’t believe he said something like that but did wait for our table as we were told. The lady at the reception didnt stop staring at us with bad faces and talking to his colleague while pointing to the prams. She finally shows us to our table and it is a round tiny table for 4 people in the middle of the main room where we couldn’t clearly place the prams without bothering other customers and where no high chairs could fit. We asked her about the possibility to take another table with sofa instead, where you can clearly sit the babies, and she would say ‘this is booked for the people who make the bookings properly’. At this point I did argue with her letting her know that when booking our table, I did comment about the 2 prams so we didnt deserve the hard time they were giving to us. She got upset and left and the other guy came asking for an explanation with a very high tone. I had to do the same and told him that we were customers, we did put in the comments of the booking that we were coming with 2 prams, and that we didnt deserve the treat they were giving to us.

We were finally given the sofa table and the situation did finish there. But it is utterly unfair the hard time they gave us, we didnt do anything wrong and they paid their frustrations with us. Btw the babies were 8mo, sitting in the sofa all the time, and 2yr old who spend the whole meal sitting on a high chair.

The rest of the team were very polite with us and, after a while, they added another table to ours so we could be more confortable.

The behavior of these 2 guys at the reception was...

Live in the area and watched this place throughout renovations. For me, the style of the restaurant doesn’t fit the cool and vibrant neighbourhood. However, we didn’t want to judge a book by its cover and decided to dine here for lunch. The reviews at that point were not great but we went with open minds. (There seems to have been a huge pump of 5* reviews all within the last week - I would be slightly cautious of this as it is likely to be friends and family helping out as they certainly weren’t glowing when we checked. Upon looking into their contributions, it also looks suspicious that the only place they’ve reviewed ever is Brasseria). The staff that served us were very polite and knew the menu well. They were dressed smartly and served the table well. Sadly though, the food was not good. I had the aubergine lasagne (it tasted reheated) and was confirmed when the middle was cold, despite the outside being piping hot. This really put me off as it wasn’t fresh. My partner had the tartare which he said had a good flavour but wasn’t mind blowing. We ordered a side of fries (these were delicious) as well as a fresh tomato salad. Both very basic sides although quite bland as the sauces were slow to arrive - by the time we had finished, we got a small pot of mustard and ketchup. Slightly pointless by this point. For a small lunch (no booze, just sparkling water) the bill came to £58! I found this super expensive and even more pricey than Ottolenghi’s down the road - but at least this is fresh and full of flavour. I had high hopes for another local Italian but sadly this one didn’t meet the mark. The whole vibe of the place reminds me of a resort canteen, the decor is old and out dated looking despite it being brand new and most importantly the food just isn’t worth it. Sorry Brasseria, we won’t...

I usually don't like to write a bad review, but today I must say this to make sure this shouldn't happen to anyone. My family and I(all four of all us) went to pertibello market to see and shop today July 5th 2024. We dine at Brasseria restaurant around 3 PM, this was the first time for all of us. Once we sat, One guy took a drink order, another one came to take food order. After a while the food came to our table. The person dropped the food and left. After that we didn't see anyone, nobody asked us how was the food or if we want anything. My niece's Carbonara past was horrible, It cost £18. My order plain salad with just cheese and olives cost £19 and was not good at all. When we ready to go no one came to our table. I got up chased one server in order to pay. He said okay and brought the bill. For 4 people we paid £82.50 plus service fee they charge 13.5% £11.14. Total we paid £93.64. This place have the audacity to charge service fee when there was no service provided. We felt like we were abandoned. To pay this much money for terrible food and disgusting service, we deserve way better treatment than what it was provided. It is a fraud. They should be ashamed. At the end, we left no one said anything, usually people at any restaurant says thank you for coming, but not this place. They saw us leaving but no word came out from their mouth. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. There are a lot of nice restaurants with that price tag and...
