TLDR: If you are transgender or queer presenting I would NOT recommend this club.
I was about to enter the MENS toilets before I was stopped and asked "male or female" by one of the bouncers. I didn't expect this as I am AMAB and I wasn't presenting in a feminine way or wearing makeup, so I said I didn't understand, to which he reiterated: "are you male or female?" I begrudingly replied "male." Before using the mens toilets.
This questioning felt intrusive and my friends and I left the club shortly after this as it put a downer on our night. Furthermore I am very suspicious of what motivated this interaction as other than having my hawaiian shirt tied up croptop style I was presenting as my gender assigned at birth. I think that one of the bouncers got bored and saw a chance to flex his muscles by questioning the gender of a somewhat androgenous partygoer. I felt humiliated, then resentful. I was told ambers was an inclusive space. I could see no gender neutral or disabled toilet to use so I defaulted to the men's as a compromise.
Lastly the atmosphere was really lame, they had some great music playing but barely anyone was dancing. It was mostly student Ladbible types which should have been a redflag to begin with. The place felt like a students union as others have said. The tequila shots were mediocre (no salt or lime provided, just a plastic cup.) Their instagram makes this venue out to be something it's not.

Read moreI came here on a night out with a friend of mine from Liverpool, his first impression of Manchester was this club and the very first thing they did was take his aftershave that he had in his pocket off of him, at no point did anyone specify what was allowed and what was not allowed in this venue, my friend left his aftershave (Dior sauvage elixir which costs easily over ÂŁ100) in the hand of the security, and surprisingly never saw it again? Absolutely appalling from the security and management, unable to confirm what is allowed and whatâs not, and donât have an area in which customers can keep items like this safe whilst they enjoy their night. Honestly disappointed. We payed for this event just to have my friend borderline robbed of his possessions, whilst the rest of us attempted to help but were ultimately shut down due to âaggressionâ or inability to comply with their unfair/unjust demands.
Donât be fooled, I am not in pursuit of ruining lectures or freshers events for others, I just hope people can adapt from my own mistakes and...
Read moreWhat a con. The night was advertised as 'DnB/Jungle'...the music wasn't even DnB or Jungle, it wasn't even any genre I know. It was just boom. boom. boom. Constantly. On repeat. I didn't even know what the genre was supposed to be. It was literally the same beat on repeat with no breaks, no interludes, nothing. Literally. Same. Beat. Add corny Swiftie vocals on top to make the Fallowfield girls go crazy. Both rooms were absolutely horrible. If this is what people these days think is DnB I feel sorry for them. The place was full of pretentious pricks too. Overall, a waste of a tenner, and false advertising when it came to the music, because that was no DnB or Jungle. Not even techno. Literally just random samples put together, no skill. The DJ was too busy drinking and chatting with her friends, she wasn't even into her own music. I stayed an hour in hopes it will get better. It didn't. I won't...
