Just returned from a 48 hour session and this is a top top fishery. Everyone from the kitchen staff to the owner were very welcoming and hands down the best place I've been too in a few years. I will split this down into sections:
Cafe: The ladies in the cafe were polite throughout and cooked a mean breakfast! Due to some severe weather the WiFi went down which meant so did the card payments. No issue, they opened a tab and allowed me to come back the day after to pay, how many fisheries would accommodate this and trust people to pay!
Tackle Shop: I was helped by a number of people including Tom and another nice chap in the office (so sorry your name escapes me!) and after my scales typically broke at the worst possible time they were on hand to help me with a new pair, no upsell or fluff just got me what I needed without fuss. Tom reminded me that if I had any other carp to give him a call and he would take all the pictures for me!
Fishing: Obviously what we come for and this is the best peg I have ever been on (Mallards). Bark peg surrounded by a wooden enclosed area, set of steps one side and a ramp on the other so getting things to your peg is simple. The lake itself was immaculate and well kept, no litter to be found anywhere and I was able to land one carp during my session (only two people including me caught on this session). The weather was very much against us so to land one at the 16lb mark was what the doctor ordered. Don't get me wrong this isn't a runs water and the baliff/owners will be first to tell you this, but if you get your rigs right, don't turn up smashing in tons of bait from the off and you have a chance. Heads up - Pink boilies are a must here!
When I consider everything i.e. facilities, staff, lake it's soon going to become my new favourite place. No doubt I could go on and no doubt about returning again this year.
Everyone at Lavender thank you very much, great meeting you all and look forward to seeing...

We travelled in our micro camper and found that the lane into the site was fine to use despite heavy rain and arriving in the dark. There were potholes, but consider the use of the site and the weather. Damage over time is inevitable and the lane was not water-logged or impassable in any sense. There was no risk at all that we would not reach the site or that we'd damage our vehicle. Maybe I'm just used to it as a Yorkshire lass, but our neighbours in much larger vehicles seemed happy enough, too. The staff could not have been more helpful before and after we arrived. Debbie arranged for us to park in a nearby well-lit pitch as it was late. The pitch was large and the site is peaceful - we are tiny but the pitches easily accommodate RVs. We could not pitch our awning as the non-hardstanding part to the side was brambles rather than grass and may have torn the groundsheet. We didn't need the awning so we didn't ask to move, but I have no doubt that staff would have provided us support the next morning had it been necessary. Swiftly prepared, tasty and affordable food available at the clean, warm cafe. There are toilets in the cafe which are accessible during 'office hours'. Well-stocked tackle shop with good signage to indicate where to get your fishing papers. As you'll see in the details, there are no shower/toilet blocks, but it's easy to wash etc and dispose of waste water not far from the camper standing. Debbie went to the trouble to get her wellies and high beam headtorch on to help us navigate the dark when we arrived and show us clearly before we settled for the night.
We'd definitely return, in fact we plan to later this year.
Disliked: Nearby construction of HS2. This didn't interfere with our enjoyment of the site, but lights can be seen on the cranes being used and works may be...
Read moreLavender Hall Fishery has to be one of my favourite venues in the entire country. The work that goes into the upkeep here is incredible, if youâre a regular you see more work has been done every time you come. LHF caters for absolutely anybody, you have Dragon which is the larger of the match waters, only ever fished it once but I had a cracking day on the pellet wag! Then thereâs Bens, my favourite lake on the complex. Bens is absolutely stuffed with fish, and there are some big lumps in there too so make sure youâve got the right gear!! Then thereâs Brook, which is a nice little pool stuffed with silvers, and more recently f1s and carp, I believe they try to keep the carp to a minimum size so that you can still use light gear to bag up on the silvers!
After that thereâs Oak and Station, the carp lakes. If youâve seen photos of the fish in these pools you know how immaculate the fish are. The owners insist that anglers have the right carp care equipment and will even assist you with photography of your catch.
Alongside the fantastic fishing, thereâs also a cafe (which is amazing, grab a breakfast here you wonât regret it), clean PROPER toilets, and an on site tackle shop which has everything you may need!! Staff in the shop are always friendly and happy to give you any advice. The great thing about the tackle shop is that they have a website too, where you can order and collect your stuff as...
