Grenville Fish and Chips — Local services in Plymouth

Used this chippy last night. My partner had scampi & chips with curry sauce which she enjoyed. Her chips looked & tasted really good as did the rest according to her. My cod & chips on the other hand weren't so good. The majority of my chips were little bits that were so crunchy it was like eating thick cut kettle chips. I only had about a dozen of what you could actually call chips. The polystyrene container was full to the brim of those crunchie little bits. The fish was so overcooked, all around the edge & the thin tail end were so dry & chewy I couldn't eat it. Not so good for me but good news for our dog who ended up getting about 80% of my meal.

Definitely won't be giving my custom to this place again!

Wanted to celebrate last day of my holidays in Plymouth with something nice and what a better way to do that by visiting the most talked about and popular fish and chip shop located in the heart of Grenville Street.As I passed by it every evening I decided to give it a try

Ordered a large cod and chips from here and I must say that this was the most awesome most fantastic most yummy fish and chips ever 😋! Loved the portion size and the food that was served was hot and crispy..Also the customer service deserves five stars as it was top notch.

Visited for the first time today and am now regretting all the times I walked past after work. Brilliant food, fresh fish that holds it's large flakes together beautifully, well seasoned with batter that's crispy and chewy in all the right ways. A standout surprise was also the curry sauce, well spiced and slightly sweet, one of the best curry sauces I've ever seen from a chippy hands down.

Service was quick but clearly everything was made fresh to order, no food sitting getting stale behind a counter, and you can taste it in the quality of the food. The price is very fair too, so a good deal for sure.
