The only Plymouth Public Park that is closed and locked at night, mostly now because it is extremely dark and spooky at night. The park used to have a city council plant nursery (now demolished) connected to the house at the Western end of the park. The park has many mature trees including English Oak (Quercus); Common Beech (Fagus) and a large Horse Chestnut (Aesculus) at it's centre. An area of wildflower meadow can be seen in Summer along the Southern edge of the park. A children's playground can be found in the Western part of the park, there are two wheelchair dedicated rides accessible by RADAR key available. Read moreLike squirrels? If you do you'll like Beaumont Park; there's loads of the little grey rodents in the park, many of which are quite tame. Some will even come and eat from your hand if you have the patience to wait.
In the summer, the park is full of families having picnics, people sunbathing, young kids enjoying the playground, older lads on the basketball court, people walking their dogs or sitting on the benches chatting.
The park is walled all the way around (formerly the gardens of Beaumont House), so feels safe and secluded. The park is open from dawn to dusk, and the gates are all locked overnight.

Lovely. I'm sure it's a nice park but in serious need of some signs, if the council can afford to pay someone to drive to the park to lock it up every night and reopen it in the morning (which in itself Is ridiculous but that's coming from someone who lives by Dartmoor and only came to the park for its charmander reputation) they can damn sure afford to put signs on all of...
