I stayed there for 3 weeks in August this year was he'll the room was dirty the wardrobe was unstable as the back was of and it was unstable bed sheets had hair blood stains my light switch cord I'm bathroom broke wasn't appropriate I tried to fix it but kept snapping accidentally broke the cheap toilet seat in the process fixing light. the fire alarm was beeping which was triggering my ptsd I reported this a few times nothing was done to fix this apart from fire alarm detector head Being removed when it only need 12v battery to be replace which meant I had no alarm detector working for the rest of my stay. The was lots of banging and noise in hotelnand from next door.the manager came back from holiday there was no hand over from amdy the rooms were never serviced. The manger ie she was not approachable was rude and I just lost a my uncle to cancer wanted some one to talk to she wasn't bothered then on my last day there she banged on the door violently shouting screaming then let herself in my room and I was naked going for a wee and she unlocked door with key and told me to be quiet or she's calling the police i had literally just got out of bed went toilet I asked her to leave she threatened me with the police I said go ahead I've done nothing wrong the police came they were nice and then I was forced to sleep rough on the street for 3 months and still homless. I am disabled was going through a mental breakdown which she was aware off the hotel and rooms do not look nice like the photos online rooms and furniture are tired and worn out there's was broken window at the front hotel which was poorly bored yp and broken glass at the feont door the maintenance were useless he was approachable but that was the only positive for that hotelbreach of fire saftey rude aggressive staff no housekeeping did not feel safe or secure there not clean hotel there is cctv there when I appealed to council and asked she lied said she didn't come into my accomadation made me out to be in the wrong and the cctv dosnt work indisagree with I come from hospitality ba around was maintenance manager for big estates and hotels ever stayed in such a hell hole and the factvthatbshe made me homless while I'm going through crisis is disgusting stay far away from here and boycott this poor excuses...

My son was fortunate enough to stay here when he was stuck in the UK during the Covid-19 lockdown. Ms. Florentina was most attentive and kind. In total he stayed almost 3 1/2 months at a generously reduced rate which was greatly and humbly appreciated. Upon check-in he was also upgraded to a bigger room and a small refrigerator was offered to him and also use of the laundry room for the duration of the lockdown . Ms. Florentina was most understanding and allowed him to clean his own room and change his own sheets as due to the whole pandemic situation my son felt this best. She kindly allowed him use of the vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies and also handed him clean sheets every week. We wish the Carhampton guest house all the very best and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of our son. It gave us peace of mind. This guest house is in the perfect location too with shops nearby and endless running tracks which was a great relief to our son. Clean rooms and a wonderful host. Most of all we are so thankful to both the Owner of Carhampton and Ms. Florentina for their wonderful compassion , spontaneity, patience and generosity during this very trying time. Rest assured after all the wonderful things my son had to say about his experience despite the pandemic ,if we get the chance to visit Plymouth ourselves we will definitely stay at the Carhampton and hope to experience the warmth and welcome...

I and a colleague stayed Friday 27th July. Initially surprised there was no breakfast. That was the start. I was in room 4 (single) En suite sort of. The shower was clean and worked. There was no shelves etc. to place anything whilst showering. wash basin was behind toilet door. Too small to place both hands in a the same time. The mirror was too high to use to shave with. No stopper in waste. Now onto the bedroom. Quite spacious and clean. The TV did not work. the furniture was new but rickety. The bedside table was not beside the bed, so no place to put specs etc. The bedding was clean but old and well used, the mattress was about 20 years old the springs could be felt, the pillows had no fabric in them at all. very un- comfy, I could not keep window open as there was no stay and windy outside and kept blowing shut. There was plenty of space for clothing but why anyone would stay more that one night I do not know. Glad to leave||How can anyone call this a hotel it is not even a B & B just a Bed|| At £65 for this crappy single certainly was not value for money. ||||AVOID Find...
