Rye Chocolates — Local services in Rother

Sad to say this was a waste of money. We like supporting independent businesses but this chocolate is pretty bog standard. They don't make their chocolate. They import the buttons, melt them and add filling. That's a cheeky way of implying that they're made when you could do this in your kitchen. For £7 a bar that's pretty steep. We got the dark pistachio and milk hazelnut bar. Both pretty basic. For a bar like this you'd expect top quality ingredients at that price tag but I can't even taste the pistachio among the chocolate. My partner was disappointed with her hazelnut too....

I came to this shop for ice cream before and it was delicious but this visit disappointed. The portion of ice cream in a cone was very mean versus that in a cup that was twice as much ice cream for the same price. We asked for more ice cream as it was barely bigger than a ping pong ball. The shopkeeper said she should have mentioned that you get more in a cup not really getting the point being made that the scoops were just very small. They wouldn’t add more ice cream and were a bit rude saying we should take it up with the owner. The ice cream was okay but not good value at...

Made from single estate cocoa so there is a clear provenance to the products.

Reasonably priced given the love and care they are made with.
