Hadfield’s Cafe — Restaurant in Salford

Unfortunately there was a cooking smell in the cafe, which was a bit off-putting. Ordered just butter chicken burger and fries. Took a while to get here, but fries arrived, so tucked in. 5 minutes later the burger arrived, most of fries gone. Well, the burger was a disappointment. Small bun, small chicken piece and slice of processed cheese, no mayo, which I later realised was supposed to be on. I would suggest getting the extras to bulk it up! The positives. Soup was thick and tasty and the egg mayo sandwich was chunky and tasty too. Would benefit from better extraction and bigger buns / chicken.

Reply to owner: I admit I did go overboard on the smell, but it was there and I have now moderated my review. Yes you did offer a coffee or dessert, but I had already looked at the menu and did not fancy anything at the time and as I said in my review, at the time of eating, I didn't realise there was supposed to be mayo on. So. I'm 'hiding behind a keyboard' then? Interesting reply. So it then follows that I should have taken the coffee/dessert and not have a say as to the size of my 'gourmet' chicken burger? Maybe you could have said something on the lines of you would look at sourcing bigger buns and fillets? Oh, and as for my wife being extremely lovely and welcome back, she was the one who was put off by the smell, so she's not going be back any time...

Well, i ordered sausage and bacon barm,and the sausages were like rubber. The bacon was overcooked, and I got toasted brioche. Well, I say toasted it was like charcoal as seen in the photo. If I wanted toast or a brioche, I would have ordered that, never going again, and recommend you avoid this place too 👌🤢🤮 I would have taken it back if it wasn't so far from me I left what you seen in the picture and the staff was using there sleeves to get stuff out of the hot plate. I'm feeling sick just typing this. I'm an ex chef, so I watch the kitchen closely when my food is being prepared and there is nothing professional about this business. I wanted to come to this place for ages, and I feel bad giving 3 stars only (really it’s a 2.5), but a few times between google & Facebook posted opening times said open but the place has been closed, so when I do find it open we sit down to a menu that basically gives no info of what’s available, the end line says ask for details. So we asked for details to be given a very basic “we do different sandwiches, egg, chicken, cheese, BLT etc, so we opt for the BLT’s, we are asked if brown or white bread, so we have one of each thinking the selection is a bit poor, so our food arrives and yeah it’s a sandwich, looks basic but ok, but then others around us are getting delicious looking baguettes with tasty looking fries! Our thoughts were well if the server had mentioned these options or the menu did then we could & would have had something far nicer, basically just very poor lazy...
