Tony's Fish and Chips — Local services in Sheffield

By the time we got home the fish batter was very soggy, and we don't live far. Quite a small fish for the price.

We bought a large chips to share and it's far less than what you'd get from other chippies. They were alright, nothing to shout about. I highly doubt they were cooked in dripping as some reviewers have mentioned.

Our sauces were also nothing special.

Everything was comparatively quite expensive.

So smaller portion sizes, mediocre quality and for a premium at that.

Overall disappointing. I expected better considering the reputation they have.

They're also cash only or in other words more than likely cooking their books. As someone who previously owned a small sandwich shop there is no excuse not to take card in this day and age - apart from so you can under-report your revenue and inconvenience your...

Fantastic service today, i went back to mosborough to visit my nan n grandads resting place and whilst there i visited many places i spent my childhood. Lots of fond memories. Tonys fish n chip shop was our little treat when we visited nan n grandad so today i had to go and relive it. The gentlemen running the shop was lovely, polite, chatty and welcoming. When we got there it was cash only so i asked him where the nearest cash point was and he was very helpful. He even asked for my order to have it ready for my return too. The food was so tasty and the young lady serving was courteous and polite too. I will return again soon x ps im not a regular customer but was treated like a valued customer...

Having worked in retail previously it’s very important to make your customers feel welcome and appreciated (I know it’s not easy). Unfortunately as soon as my tenner was in the till that was all the worth I felt ‘nothing bad’ but I might as well not have been there. I’ve been many times before and it’s not always like that. But I’ve definitely witnessed it before and this time they’ve lost me as a customer. It may mean nothing to them, but my advice is make an effort to at least ‘act’ as though you care about...
