Dartmouth River Boats — Local services in South Hams

Absolutely loved this trip, done the round Robin from Dartmouth up to Totnes on the boat, Totnes to Paignton on the bus and then Steam train back to Dartmouth and across on the ferry. Most of the staff were lovely but be warned the women that work in the kiosks selling the trips and giving out the tickets could not be more unhelpful. They were miserable, wouldn't know how to smile if they tried and when we asked about any other trips they had they didn't even try to help and dismissed us like dirt. They did not even try to sell us the trip up to Totnes, and one of the ladies said to go and ask her colleague as she was finishing soon. I would suggest booking everything online so that you do not have to interact with them anymore than necessary as they do not make you feel welcome to...

This is a lovely adventure for anyone of any age. Such fun and great value. We did the all inclusive Round Robin and its worth every penny. We took the boat from Totnes to Dartmouth.. 90 mins. Lovely views and seem to end very quickly. A little ferry hop to Kingswear that run every 15 mins. Step off the ferry and your in the traditional Kingswear train station. Looked very original to us. We took a walk up the hill and saw the train puffing into the station. We saw an observation carriage and piad an extra £2.50 each for the privilege. Great fun! Full view of surroundings and the steam engine pulling us to Paignton. We also had a sneaky glass of fizz. Leg 3 was an open top bus back to Totnes which pulled in right beside our car. ✨️We did the Totnes to Dartmouth river cruise, which takes you from Totnes all the way down through the river Dart to the picturesque port of Dartmouth. Even though we are from Exeter, we've never done this before and just happened to stumble across it ! Well worth it, especially on a lovely sunny day! Just be aware when only doing the river cruise to and from Dartmouth and not the Round Robin you have limited time in Dartmouth about an hour and 30 minutes so on a sunny day try and book in somewhere if you can for food before hand if you dont the area very well and want somewhere to...
