D & F Kitchen — Local services in Stockport

Ordered from D&F maybe 4 or 5 times since I moved to Reddish a year ago and tried a couple variations of the munch boxes aswell as a few other dishes. Each time I've noticed a consistent pattern and I know what to expect now.

Each time I've ordered the chips have been consistently good. My partner thinks they are frozen not fresh peeled potatoes and I think I'm in agreement although personally I don't mind as I love the thickness of the chip and they are usually still quite fluffy inside.

The curry sauce is consistently good as well. It has a nice deep flavour which I've not found at any other local Chinese takeaways. It is a little on the thicker side maybe occasionally too thick.

The meat dishes come with plenty of meat which I think is a higher quality overall than most of the local competitors. The salt and pepper boxes are harshly seasoned. I had a 9" box last night and half way through it I was starting to think it was too much and wasn't enjoying it so much. I finished it because I didn't want to waste it rather than because I was wanting more. I was expecting to get heartburn all night from all the salt. Don't get me wrong it's good that it's seasoned but it gets rather unpleasant after a few mouth fulls it could do with being a little more subtle.

The rice is the complete opposite.. I've had a few rice dishes now and each time it's been bland and dissapointing. I've had special fried rice with plenty of meat but lacking in flavour and last night I got egg fried rice in my salt and pepper box and it was exactly as anticipated completely bland. I actually put a bottle of soy sauce to one side specifically for the rice before the food even arrived because I knew it would be flavourless.

Chicken balls, shredded chicken, chicken pieces all decent. Spring rolls okay. Ribs not the best more fat than meat.

Overall its a pretty decent Chinese takeaway with good portions, some very nice meals, some okay meals which could really be enhanced with subtle changes. Pricing seems reasonable for the overall experience.

On being asked 2 review on D&F Kitchen (Chinese takeaway, chip shop) Found this little funny as I'd only just come back home from picking up what I thought was steak and kidney pie chips and curry? Please take a look at photo ? Iv very often had a variety of meals both delivered and collected some do better than others "BUT" NEVER HAVE I had anything as bad as this ? After put it out on plate sat down opening pie found filling company dyed up & hard the chips that hard couldn't even bit through them ? As for the curry source it was so thick on tipping the pot up ( it come in)it didn't come out until persuading it with a spoon if you get my meaning.? Sat here before leaving my own personal findings on this meal. Recall thinking that I really can't think of a worse takeaway meal (I'v had many over my years) than this one I was unfortunate enough to get serviced with tonight.? ( AS EVEN MY DOGS REFUSED TO EAT IT ?) NOW IN BIN. THAT annoyed put back in carrybag it come in & drove back with intentions of RETURNING IT ONLY FOUND...

Couple months ago had a delivery driver with a bad attitude, shouting outside my door having a bad night I think never ordered again for a while. Then last time I ordered I asked for no veg in noodles when delivered there was veg so another meal in bin thought maybe a mistake let them know next time I order as don’t want to wait again sending bk ect . Then tonite I go to order and I let them know about the noodles for them to argue on the phone with me saying I never asked no veg then put me on to someone else for them to argue over it as well in my books this is no customer service at all with I cancelled my order as it put me off. At this rate d and f will have no customers left as tonite they lost a customer for good this time . Gave them a couple of chances but very poorly run and no customer service skills at all don’t need people arguing on phone. New Chinese for me from now on no...
