Yarm Railway Viaduct — Local services in Yarm

We stopped off in yarm on the way to Richmond. A very busy and hot Sunday, the highstreet was absolutely melting in the 31 degree July heat! As we had our little dog, we needed somewhere shady so walked down True Lover's Walk, a short footpath next to the roadbridge, which takes you out onto the river bank where you can walk along and under the viaduct. Very impressive with a small notice board, I think it said they used 7 million bricks in the construction! I'd reccomend this as a stop off on a longer journer, very pleasant and if you need any food there are plenty of places on the highstreet less than 5 ins walk away. We walked the Teesdale Way following the river on the North Aislaby side of the River Tees. Following the path that had exploded into life with river plants and foliage from the recent rain and then sunshine. When we were under the viaduct arches, it had the most amazing echo. Was great just to be out in the fresh air there's a nice little quiet footpath which runs under with seats so you can just relax and take in the peace and quiet along with the scenery.
