We attended Muse around 5:30 on a Friday evening, it was fairly quiet when we arrived and the table we had booked was ready and waiting for us although we arrived early. It was nice to have a text reminder about our booking with an easy option to cancel had we needed it. Our booking was based on a recommendation from a colleague and we weren't disappointed. Bread and olives though not on the menu were served quickly, although I'm surprised both were individually priced as these were not served separately. Both the hummus and aioli were delicious and fresh tasting. Would recommend these whilst you wait! We had a variety of mains on the table pictured are the burger and short rib (although no mussels), both were delicious and filling. We had sides of 'proper' chips and onion rings, the other mains on our table were chicken and pork belly - all of which looked delicious and were served in a good amount of time based on the whole tables order. Our service was exactly how you'd expect, attentive but not intrusive and whilst we did have drinks on the bill we also had an endless amount of table water which was filled frequently and without the need for request. Puddings shown are peach souffle and the lime and white chocolate cheesecake. The souffle was warm with subtle flavours but too much for me to finish after the filling portion of rib. The cheesecake on the other hand gave me serious desert envy and would recommend even though it wasnt my choice. The texture was unreal and so light without the usual density of cheesecake, I asked but sadly they don't offer a takeout service which is a shame as that cheesecake needs to be consumed as one of your five a day. I'm looking forward to another visit - even if just for dessert! A table for 5 adults including tip (10% added as standard on the bill) for two courses was about £170.

Went with my wife for breakfast at Muse in Yarm and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered the banana bread with mascarpone, eggs benedict, and the french toast – every single dish was spot on. The banana bread was rich and moist, the hollandaise on the eggs benedict was silky and full of flavour, and the french toast was perfectly golden and indulgent. Service was brilliant – really friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The space itself feels stylish but relaxed, with a bright, elegant atmosphere that makes it great for a casual breakfast or a special treat. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back!

On arriving at muse I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant. We were greater by friendly waiting staff who showed us to our table. So far so good! Unfortunately I can only give Muse 3 stars for this experience. Whilst the menu is ambitious I felt the calamari was undercooked and the skin on the duck should have been crisper and the chicory over powered the taste of anything it had touched. The dessert was delicious, especially the blueberry ice cream. Unfortunately for just under a £50 meal I would have expected more consistency across all three course.

This evening we found Muse to be most unaccomodating! 5pm on a Tuesday late afternoon with the place mostly empty only to be confronted by a very rude young man seemingly very adamant that the tables were all booked. My wife and I have recently relocated from Leeds, where we have frequented many local bistros, wine bars and restaurants and never had a problem of being 'squeezed in' for a couple of nice wines and beers which would have been the monetary equivalent to a 2 course meal.

We think it was disgraceful behaviour for a very quiet Tuesday afternoon! You are obviously trying to cater for the eaters, but please let me tell you we have eaten in some of the best bars and restaurants in and around the Leeds area (and there are many that would make you look like a mere 3 star restaurant). Apologies for this verbal chastisement, but you need to treat people with more respect and hospitality.

My wife and I, along with other family members have spent a great deal of money on eating and drinking at your establishment. But no more! After this evening's debacle, we will not choose to frequent your establishment any more! Please do not judge the 'average looking drinker' They may have surprised you with their elegant taste in...

This restaurant is exceptional. Not good, not great, exceptional.

I do not exaggerate when I say this is one of some of THE best food I've ever had the pleasure of eating.

Perhaps we were particularly hungry, but having looked at the menu, we couldn't choose between the a number of dishes. We ended up ordering a fish course of the cod & the bass, with duck & steak for mains.

The food was simply incredible, if I had been in Michelin-starred restaurant I wouldn't have been disappointed. Every aspect of each dish paired perfectly with the rest, every mouthful a delight, every dish uniquely brilliant.

The aged steak melted in the mouth whilst being full of aged flavour, the duck was crisp but juicy and fell off the bone, the carrots tasted like they were fresh out of a garden surrounded by flowers, with a hint of cinnamon, the fish was crispy on the crust, soft, flaky and succulent in the middle. This is food cooked expertly.

I can't speak highly enough of the food, but that's not to say the service was lacking - it was also great. It's just the food here really is something else.

Would definitely recommend, easy 10/10, would go again (and...
