What a very special New Year’s gift I received from @BostonBijoux this year! Since I first stepped foot in their store and gallery, decades ago, they have been my “go to” destination whenever I’m looking for a meaningful and enduring gift, or even sometimes just to have a quick browse to brighten my day with their thoughtfully crafted and curated selection of beautiful jewelry, both old and new. When looking for a gift, I have always found pieces there whose character matches the person and occasion that I’m looking for.
When there this past December looking for (and finding) a gift, I entered their holiday drawing for a shopping spree. When I received a call in early January wishing me a Happy New Year, I first thought it was just that…as it would have been in character. They were, though, also calling with the news that I had won their $1000 holiday shopping spree!
As this year is also a very meaningful year for a dear friend of mine, @hilarymaglothin, I decided, in the spirit of the gift that I was receiving, to share in with her so that we could partake together in this opportunity to choose something that would enduringly symbolize this new year, making it also a celebration of friendship, community, and the precious grace and beauty around us is, no matter how small or large, constant or fleeting.
So, together, we had the privilege and joy of spending a morning at @BostonBijoux last week, browsing and choosing the perfect pieces to mark the beginning 2025 and where we are at this time in our lives. As has always been the case for me when I’m there, we were humbled and thrilled to find just that. How lucky we are to have such a gem, literally, in our community.
Thank you, @Boston Bijoux, for the artistry and spirit with which you treat both your pieces and your community. The way you treasure, reflect, and amplify the beauty you see in the world is extraordinary, and your community shines brighter, both outwardly and within, because of it.
Happy 2025,...
Read moreMy family has made several purchases at Boston Bijoux Acton recently, and both the products and personal attention from their staff have been great. Most significantly, Tim, the jewelry store staff member with whom I’ve dealt, recently helped my son with his engagement ring purchase. On an impromptu visit to Boston Bijoux Acton, my son’s girlfriend had described, to Tim and my son, a ring that she might want someday. The ring that she envisioned was based on ideas that she got while looking at other “non-engagement” rings in the store. My son returned later to the store, and worked with Tim to custom design the engagement ring. Due to the involvement of designing the custom ring and special circumstances surrounding the proposal, there were a few email and phone call exchanges. Tim was great in all of the communication to ensure that all was perfect for this ring. In the end, my son’s fiancé has a stunningly beautiful custom-designed engagement ring. In addition, over the winter holidays, Tim helped me select some ear rings for a gift and for someone with allergies. Tim was very helpful in guiding and educating me; and the gift was well received. Lastly, before these purchases, Tim helped my husband and I select a special order 3 stone diamond ring for my husband to replace his wedding band. My husband has gotten many compliments on this...
Read moreShould have read the reviews before going. Went for an engagement ring resize, same horrible experience as Elsa's review 3mo ago - she tried to warn us. The man working there started questioning how much the ring was worth in front of my fiancée. Beyond mortified.
He suggested (repeatedly!) that if I didn't like it, I should have told her to leave the store. Or, as a fun alternative, I should have come without her to get her ring measured and resized (the fact that her finger physically needed to be there to be measured is only a minor detail I guess).
In my fiancée's words afterward "how could a person be so terrible? I now associate my engagement ring with this horrible experience".
We are both devastated, and deeply regret ever setting foot...
