Came here because everything else was closed, and the hipster-ish joints usually have nice food. Ordered, waffle maker broken, played a board game, didn't realize water was free, etc. The food arrives, I ordered "Blueberry Lemon Burst" waffles (subbed pancakes), the blueberry lemon compote was actually a couple of plastic cups of thawed blueberries. Paired with ice cold butter. Flavorless. You'd expect that the meal that comes with a blueberry lemon compote would ACTUALLY HAVE IT! Very dissapointing. My friend ordered a quinwa bowl with bulgolgi. Full of greens and hardly as advertised. Tasted more like a salad with ham. (It was also full of home fries for some reason) Both of our meals were completely falsely advertised, and neither would ever be considered tasty. She took it home because she felt bad wasting so much money. We also shared a plate of the chipotle home fries. The sauce was good, but the potatoes tasted old, like they were cooked a few days ago. Overall, this meal definitely wasn't worth the $35+ it cost. We would have gotten way better quality at a local greasy spoon. (If there were any, that is) On top of all of that, when we were ordering, we asked for water and the woman at the counter (while sharing memes with the cook) pointed us to bottled water. Little did we know, there was a large jug of iced water right next to us, but by the time we noticed we'd already purchased. Don't judge this book by its cover, because the restaurant looked very nice, but the food was meh. No lemon or compote in the 'waffles', no Korean in the...
Read moreI did not receive what I ordered. My $1400 wrap had additional mayo and I was told it was prepared with limited mayonnaise. The person only took my card I left tip of $1.00 for her doing absolutely nothing. If she did only give me bill I was amazed at tip chooses. The coffee I said medium leave room for milk was to the brim. It took a long time I had no place to sit but a man at a table for two let me sit down. Next visit I bought I muffin and small coffee bill was almost $8.00 without tip. Third visit I ordered coffee only the menu in the wall said anerican coffee $2.40 It was in wall on inside glass wall. The bill Was $3.75. I took down the menu she said manager was not in and so I left. I went to a coffee house in another town called Java Hut very reasonable. Two workers at Blackbird I visited before Presented high prices the two workers came up to register saying that they could not post new prices every time. I said that Means people coming in looking at the drinks list are at the mercy of their Laziness abd a company should follow simple task. I took to post to have people aware that prices are on their computers at Blackbird and change at their needs disregarding Truth in prices regardless of “we cannot post prices as they go up often! I lived and am returning to this town soon. My friends and I were appalled by their practice prices and arrogance. Many stores before they came in this strip mall have moved. I...
Read moreIf I could give them a negative 5 star I would! Terrible attitude by staff members. No greeting when entering, no menus up front, etc.(was told to look at the sign behind the counter or take menus off a table). We managed to find a menu and ordered. The cinnamon bun was hard a rock and arrived with no utensils. When I went up to ask for them, I received a rude response "turn around, they were behind you". I could not see them as customers were standing/waiting in front of it blocking the area. When our food arrived, mine meal was cold. We also paid $2 extra for "real maple syrup". It arrived cold and amounted to about 2 teaspoons! Hardly worth the $2! I brought my food back up, explained it arrived cold, they offered to warm it up in the microwave! I explained why that wouldn't work for me, the English muffin gets rubbery, the eggs overcooked, etc. and asked for a new meal. I overheard a staff member saying "it was hot when she delivered it, I waited too long to eat it", accompanied by eye rolling and again a major attitude. To sum it up, food was mediocre at best. Considering it is "self serve" it is way overpriced ($40 for 2 people). And very snide attitudes, felt like we were the nerds walking into the "cool kid" party. It was our first visit,...
