BUYER BEWARE
Purchased the 1/3 side of beef deal from Abbott's Grocery in Ada.
When my wife got home with the box, what was supposed to be in there WAS NOT. She immediately called the store and informed them that one cut of meat was missing, the 5lbs of Ribeye.
The person she spoke with told her to come in and he would make it right. Another person called back shortly afterwards and asked her to check the box. That's when we were told about the list of cuts written on the side. Everything was crossed off EXCEPT T-bone and Ribeye.
That person also told her to come back and they would make it right.
When she arrived at Abbott's, she was told she had to speak with Cody. Cody claimed he was the person who packed the box and said he knew he put those cuts in there.
He turned on his heel like a Nazi and refused to even look at the box that clearly shows those two cuts of meat not marked out or discuss the matter further.
This is a terrible deal to begin with. Think of the size of a cow. Even after you take into account the loss of offal and unusable parts of the animal, 55lbs of meat for $389.99 is a terrible deal. With tax, that's more than $7.00 per pound.
Think of it this way 55 lbs x 3 = 165 lbs of useable meat.
Even if the "cow" weighed 500lbs, that's basically a calf.
Advertising a 1/3 side of beef for $389.99 is false advertisement.
Look up the average size of a 1/3 side of beef. It's like 150lbs to 300lbs depending on the cow.
BUYER BEWARE
Even if the quality of the meat is good, Abbott's is ripping you off. And then they have Cody, who ripped us...
Read moreWas in the store today to get a ribeye. Joe was cutting up some ham hock and I asked if he’d do the same for me and he ask if I wanted them cut up which I did to use in my pinto beans. Well I’ve cooked a 1,000 pots of beans over the years and used every pork product and always loved ham hock the most, but unfortunately I’ve never had any ham hock but just smaller portions. In the end Joe cut the hock up in nice pieces with more meat than you’d typically get and absolutely perfect in my first pot of pintos. Thanks much as ham hock and pintos...

To the owner, it’s really disappointing and distasteful for your establishment to charge extremely high prices and especially have an establishment that serves to the public, I say I work very hard for my money and don’t get help from food stamps, I wonder what your sales would be is you didn’t have government funding from the public, I’m sure your would loose lots of business! You could at least offer...
