This has been my experience with Agawam Pack and Ship.
From the first time I started coming here, I noticed that one of the guys seemed reluctant to give a receipt. He'd always say, "You know, your receipt is the email you received when you created this label." I've always had to ignore him and get a receipt. The receipt they provide is a receipt that they've received and scanned the item - it gives you the date, time, and location of the scan on the receipt. Without this, if you drop-off a package and it goes missing, they can claim they didn't scan it.
I know this because I have a package that has gone missing and the first thing he asked me for was my receipt because, in his words, "it proves I've scanned it." When I came in today to inquire about a package that isn't showing it was scanned by them, even though I was giving a receipt, he immediately became defensive and dismissive. He didn't ask me any questions, brushed me off, and told me to call FedEx. The other guy who was there with him was much kinder and asked me for the tracking number. Once he pulled up the tracking number he says, "It's not even showing as scanned. Where's your receipt?" Of course, I didn't bring my receipt and I told them I've had to come back with it. The entire time the kinder guy is looking up my tracking number, the other guy was dismissing my concerns because I used "FedEx SmartPost," and in his words, "Was the slowest and that the tracking number wasn't purchased through them and that they don't know what to say." I was trying my hardest not to get annoyed, but it was impossible with the other guy continuing to make dismissive comments in the background. I asked him, "So if I drop-off a package here, and receive a receipt, and it doesn't show as scanned days later, it's not your responsibility?" now they both respond, "Where's your receipt?!"
A shouting math ensued. It was incredibly unprofessional. To be fair, at the end of this exchange I'd had enough of the dismissive badgering of the other guy.
The point I want to get across is this one: this location may be convenient for many but use it as a LAST RESORT. I deliver dozens of packages a month from eBay sales and because I've noticed a delay in tracking updates at this location (this being the longest one), I normally drive to a corporate FedEx/UPS location or the USPS Post Office. I use this location when my schedule is tight and hoped a package would never go missing because I knew it'd be a nightmare here. They prefer you buy your shipping label through them and seem uninterested in your package if it wasn't. There response to missing packages is a MAJOR concern for someone like me conducting e-commerce online.
Ultimately, if I can't find my receipt, I'm out $800 from my eBay sale and am likely to receive negative feedback from my buyer which will be detrimental to my business considering I currently have 100% feedback.
My only recourse is to hope they have cameras on location and hope that I have the energy to pursue this in small claims court.
Seriously though - good luck if you have to use them.
P.S. Want a picture of their unprofessional attitude? Look at there response to the latest...
Read moreI couldn't believe the disrespect and pure harassment I received at this store. First of all, this location is listed as a UPS location on the web, so it wasn't unreasonable for me to think that I could return a package by having the QR code scanned. Upon walking in, there was a man who was vacuuming the front area who greeted me kindly. I walked up to the counter and waited patiently while the other man behind the counter talked and laughed with his coworker, not even greeting me or saying anything. It wasn't until the first man said, "hey hurry it up you have a customer" that he came over to help me. I explained what I was there for and showed him the code on my phone. It was then things turned a little weird. He TOOK MY PHONE out of my hand, for some reason, and said that they don't scan the codes there because they're not THE UPS Store, they're just a location. I was confused, understandably so, so I said, "But on your door it says that you're a UPS drop off location?" Still holding my phone, he said "okay let me explain this easier for you". His tone and choice of words was incredibly misogynistic, as if he had to dumb things down for me. At this point I didn't appreciate his tone and began to feel uncomfortable. I reached out and took ahold of the top of my phone and attempted to pull it out of his hand. He then TIGHTENED HIS HOLD on MY phone, to which I said, "Can I have my phone please?" He instantly became exceptionally dismissive and rude, releasing my phone, and said. "You know I was gonna help you, but you're just being rude, so I'm not gonna help you now.", and proceeded to throw my package at me. I was flabbergasted. I told him how was I being rude when he was holding onto my property? He was EXCEPTIONALLY rude, and this was my first and will be my only time at this location. The young man who works here was very nice and tried to help me after I had left the store, but in no way should the older man had touched my phone, let alone take it out of my hand and then resisted giving it back to me. And he absolutely shouldn't have tossed my package at me. I ended up calling the police, and was told they had had multiple complaints about him just like mine. Please, if you can go anywhere...
Read moreAfter purchasing an order through the Walmart fulfillment center the package was split into two orders due to one item needing to be shipped from a different fulfillment center
After endless hours, trying to negotiate with the shipping companies to just allow me to sign for the order, No one was willing to help, even though I said the package would get stolen
Walmart told me to take a picture and report it stolen when I got home home tomorrow even though I told him that if I don’t sign for it, it will be taken due to my housing area
Searching through fulfillment centers, I was able to find Agawam Pack and Ship.
Even though my package was not coordinated with their delivery system, they were able to point me in the direction of where I could locate the package any eventually get a hold of the people responsible for my upcoming delivery.
After being frustrated and causing this person to have to work 15 minutes in the overtime, graciously calm down after a frustrated Valentines weekend
This gift was for my daughter, whom I could not give it to because of a mishap in the system and they were able to make me feel good about what was going on and understand what I could do to better correlate my deliveries in the future
How do I use them as my delivery preference? I would’ve gotten all my packages at the same time and would not have had any anxiety like I did this entire day. Just trying to get a hold of the shipping companies.
At the end of the day I want to say thank you so very much for your help and as a graduate of Agawam High School circ. 2005.
I really appreciate the above and beyond effort on this frigid icy day where I know you wanted to go home and you you helped me your kindness doesn’t exist anymore and I really appreciate it and I personally want to say...
