I genuinely hope they’re at least paying their employees well because these prices are absurd even for current inflation and even for it being a smaller company. I could see a box of pop tarts maybe being a dollar higher than Kroger or Publix because I understand that many companies have to negotiate prices with manufacturers but pop tarts are at least two dollars higher here and most everything seems to be at least 10-30% higher here than everywhere else.
Boxes of cereal that are regular priced at Kroger for around 2 bucks fall into the 4 dollar region here
Given that it’s location is a lower income area it really feels like the company is just taking advantage of people who can’t drive further out to shop.
The selection is great the employees are great (if the food prices are nuts because KJs is compensating them then that’s cool, but I doubt that) and the store is fairly clean whenever I go and I like how it feels more like an old school grocery store
But these prices must be coming from some place...

I don’t live in New Ellenton and not many of your customers are familiar with the executive decision to close the right entrance at 8PM before the store closes every night. One of their frequent customer was trying to pry the door open and banging on the door.. I was confused 🤔 He then wave his hands for her and I to come to the other door. When walking in he stated this as if we should know this. Therefore I stated in a respectful manner “I’m not from around here, You guys should put a sign up” he stated in a condescending way “well now you know.” I will not be back. I give one star for having the item I needed but you lost the other stars for the lack of customer service skills. Give this man a class on how to conduct himself he is a loose cannon & one should never assume what someone...
Read moreI like Kj's to a certain extent. The employees go above, and beyond. As well as the managers. The store is always clean, and presentable. BUT.....The reason I gave 4 stars, and not 5 is because the prices are ridiculous. Yes. I know it's the economy. But not priced way more than other grocery stores right down the road. I feel like it makes it very harder on other ppl that does not have the option to go right down the road to the next grocery store.
To your reply, which I thank you for. First, the price of the deli plates. When they was $6.99 I believed that was perfect. But since they have jumped up to $8.99 each, I do not get to enjoy them as much as I use to, or would like to. My opinion, I believe $6.99 was affordable, and benefited Kj's, and...
