I have to say I was really disappointed w/ the service. I took two sports coats to have the sleeves shortened. I thought the pricing was extremely excessive but really liked the coats. She was a nice lady and gave me a great deal of confidence when she did the adjustment marks on the coats. The first red flag is she wanted payment up front for the entire order. We agreed to a 60% deposit. I was told 2 weeks. I called 17 days after and was told the job was completed. The recording and the door states the hours are from 1-6p Tues-Friday. I showed up at 1:07p and the door clock said "Return at 4:00 p.m." I called and was told that they had a small business and flexible hours. She sounded annoyed that I was expecting the store to be opened when advertised. She did offer to make sure she was there if I called ahead. I called the next day as my wife was going to try and stop by before a nail appointment but was unable to do so. She stated someone would be at the shop. I called the following day as I was in Bham and could stop in. I was floored because on the call I was being chastised as she stayed until 6:21p yesterday and no one showed up. I informed her I stated 4:00p and that It was not really up to me to call them and it was her decision to stay. I asked if she was there now and she continued to complain. I interrupted her and discovered she was in fact there. I went by asked for my jackets, paid the balance of the order in cash and left without engaging or trying on the coats. I told her if they were not right I would get them fixed elsewhere. It is truly disappointing that this occurred because the coats were beautifully done but I cannot be in a position to argue with an individual about a job that I thought was over priced. So sorry for the rant, the summation would be excellent work that is pricy but the service / language barrier will not entice me for any repeat business.
I could not respond to the vendors statement below so I amended my review. I pay my doctor after the service is done not before. Not sure how this is relevant. I stated the quality of work was fantastic. It was suppose to be completed on 5/18/24. The time frame is detailed above w/ accuracy. I had to call and was not contacted upon completion. It was 3 days later. I stated 4p before and didn't realize I should have called to tell her to go home. I didn't raise my voice before anything happened. I didn't want to disrespect anyone because she did seem to be a nice lady. I just wanted to pick up my items and depart. I didn't refuse in an angry voice I just stated I was good. If it came across angry, my apologies. I stated to her that I was good and if they were not done correctly I would get them fixed in another place. Again to not be disrespectful but if they were not done correctly I was not going to go through this again. The garments were in fact beautifully done as stated before. The $60 was the balance. I pulled 3 $20 out of my wallet to pay the balance. I only wanted to get my items and depart. I did raise my voice on the phone but said nothing negative. She was telling me how wrong I was for her staying late. Thought I was the customer. I didn't request her to stay but appreciated she did. I didn't know if it was a business number or a cell number. I had asked two other times before if she was there and she didn’t answer the question and chose to tell me how wrong I was. I do understand Google and the purpose. I actually do admire your defense of your company and employee, just don't agree w/ the representation of the situation. I won't hide behind another name. I was sharing my view of the situation my disappointment w/ the service level I expected. The rating of your business is quite poor and the reviews are shockingly negative by percentage. I was not planning to come back to the business anyway, thought that was obvious. It is a shame as the workmanship is exceptional. Your response paints the picture of exactly why I was disappointed. I do hope you can get things...
Read moreMy husband took in a pair of pants for a pocket repair and one of our daughters cheer skirts to be taken (without cutting material). The lady told my husband she wasn’t sure she had the exact color thread but she could match it best she could and he told her that was perfect it was just a pair of work pants so he was good with it. For the cheer skirt due to her cheer schedule it’s hard to work around store hours to get her there for someone to mark adjustments. So, I pinned how much material needed to be altered and where the button needed to be placed to make it small enough to fit my daughter. This was not an easy task - almost 4 inches needed altering to have it fit correctly. The turn around time was going to be after the date she had to have the skirt and the lady said “we will meet your date and have both ready”. The pricing was very reasonable and the skirt fit my daughter excellently, especially since she used what I had pinned to show her. I will...
Read moreRIDICULOUS PRICING!! I needed the legs tapered on a pair of pants and was told it would be $110. I refused the service due to the ridiculous price. I understand quality service and it’s worth, but this is unreasonable. I’m actually pleased because I had to search for someone else. Thankfully I found International Alterations located at 122 W Valley Avenue in Homewood. The owner has been in business at the location for over 30 years, has reasonable pricing, and quick and excellent customer service. The workmanship is excellent and was $45 and the work was done very quickly. My lesson learned is to shop around because you can get better quality service for half the price which...
