Shelby Motor Lodge — Hotel in Alabaster

The rooms were very nice and clean. The cleaning lady was very helpful and there was a man who worked in the office that went above and beyond what was required to ensure my pleasant stay. The internet dropped in an out and was unreliable, and the tv didn't work all the time, but I wasn't there to watch tv anyway sot hat didn't bother me much. However, the woman who owns and runs the place was absolutely horrible. She accused me of stealing towels (I didn't, I just told me the maid I didn't need as many as she had been giving me) and called me a liar on more than one occasion. I had a business contact meet me at the location of my hotel to go over some notes, and she accused me of lying about how many people were staying in the room. The young lady I met with only stayed about an hour. The whole time I was trying to pack my bags and leave to check out that woman was yelling at me and telling me to not come back because the trash was too full. (?) I asked her if it was my responsibility to take the trash out when the maid came by every second or third day? It wasn't like it was overflowing. That woman seriously needs help. This place is a horror scene out of the Freddy Krueger movie. Can't believe this place is in business it needs more repairs than I have ever seen of the lowest motels I have ever seen. There is mold in places rotten sink faucets that are corroded & patchwork all over the walls and they have not fixed it. bathroom needs work air conditioner is the dirtiest worse air conditioner I have ever seen these people do not care about this place they need a wrecking ball to come hit it and knock it down. I have pictures of the room I stayed in but for some reason this place will not let you post pictures I've been trying to figure it out for the longest and I guess there's a reason why they will not. This one story hotel was probably built some time in the mid 1950's and isn't in bad condition considering it's age. There were a few minor issues when I first checked in (window had to be replaced, TV didn't get all of the available channels) but these issues were quickly corrected.|| The staff were very helpful and professional, the issue I had was with some of their clientele.
