My friends and I (a group of people in our 30s) had the best time here!
Things to love: Adults get a discount! Here they charge extra for kids - We loved this as people without children in our group - there was room for us to be kids too !!
It’s open till 9pm & has the most incredible sunset view! It’s in this area of west Alameda island that’s got an industrial feel to it, the space beyond the patch is vacant so the view is just the Bay & SF. The lighting is cinematic! You will feel like a Lost Boys Vampire - bring your leather jacket & your film camera!
Inflatable slides - when we first showed up I didn’t imagine we would go down the inflatable slides but we ended up doing all of them multiple times & we were all giddy as hell from the small burst of endorphins! Again, adults deserve this joy too.
Staff - everybody we talked to were so friendly & chill. I can’t recall the name of the guy we chatted with the most but he was from Chicago I think & we loved him.
Music! Staff brought a speaker & were playing such fun music, like whoever was responsible for the playlist on Sunday September 29th 2024 , 5-9pm - WELL DONE - keep this person in charge of that !! It also almost looked like a karaoke speaker which also would have been incredible!
Pumpkin blaster, it costs extra but was good fun. It is a big intimidating cannon 😬
I enjoyed the simplicity & relaxed vibe of this place so much & will probably be going back with more friends...
Read moreWe were hoping for more from our experience at the Speer Family Pumpkin Patch. We were reluctant to go based on previous reviews but wanted to give it a chance, especially since we were going with other families. The woman that checked us in was really upbeat and friendly. I can't say that for the rest of the employees (that is when you could find one.) we found it very odd and concerning that there were no employees monitoring the inflatable slides and bounce houses. It was like a free-for-all and a bit chaotic at times. The large tents got shade was a nice touch and much needed, however, there needed to be more tables and chairs. The poor animals in the "petting zoo" were so afraid that there was no petting at all. All of the kids couldn't get within 4 feet without them running away. None of us walked out with pumpkins which was the main intent on going. For the price you pay for tickets ($76 for 2 Adults and 2 Children) they can't include a small pumpkin per ticket? We are glad that we went to spend time with friends but will be venturing to our other favorite patches...
Read moreI was in the bay area on business and had a few too many at a business lunch in chinatown, stumbled out into the bright daylight and dialed up an uber on my phone. It arrived and I fell asleep in the back. I guess I put in the wrong address because we ended up here, where I woke up to the driver yelling at me to get out. I obliged him and before i got my bearings he had driven away. The pumpkin patch was closed, but I was intrigued and stumbled in. As I wandered amongst the pumpkins and gourds, I just couldn't comprehend such a thing in alameda. My head started to hurt so I laid down on some straw bales and took a little rest while I waited for my lyft driver to arrive, which he shortly did - clearly amused and curious how I found myself there. He was discrete however and didn't inquire, so we rode in silence.
I had actually forgotten about this until google suggested I review the place and it all came flooding back.
Three stars only due to it not being open and the sense of existential dread and confusion the experience caused....
