Great location! This campsite is near everything! We stayed here for 3 weeks this year, July 2018 and 2017 stayed 2 months at Diamond M. So they are the only two I can compare. Diamond M is about 8 miles from Soldotna. So everyday we drove to either Swiftwater or Centennial to fish it took about 20 min. to get there. Klondike RV is in Soldotna so it was a bout 5 mins. to go fishing. Diamond M and Klondike both have nice, very clean bathrooms HOWEVER! Diamond M does not have a lock on the main building to go into the bathrooms. Klondike has a heavy duty lock to enter the building to the showers and the washers and dryers. This is a big plus for me because there are a lot of people that stay in the pasture at Diamond M and I didn't feel particularly safe there while showering. A camp fire is allowed at Diamond M but not at Klondike. However, our neighbor right next to us, had a bear come into his campsite at Diamond M and I'm sure it was because of the smell of hotdogs coming from the camp fire. There are a lot of woods around Diamond M with many wild animals. Klondike has a huge cyclone fence around the sides and back of the park. Much safer in my opinion. Diamond M had very small washers so I didn't use them because it was too expensive and we just went to the laundromat. HOWEVER: Klondike had huge washers and dryers that even cost less than the laundromat, so we were able to wash while we camped and not have to sit in a laundromat waiting on clothes. While both are nice sites, we would certainly go back to...
Read moreThis RV park was in my mile post and what a gem.We arrived to a very warm welcome from the owner and he made us feel most welcome. told us of all the facilities on offer. The showers were all included in the price unlike a lot of RV parks we have stayed where you have to pay for them. We found the showers very clean and in good repair. There was a laundry on site with washing machines and tumble dryers also they were nice and clean and in good condition you did pay for those the owner had plenty of change for us to use these. The spot we were given to park up in was very nice we had plants either side so made it feel quite private . Also the space was nice unlike some RV parks you are all squashed in with just bearly room to get your slide out out. There was an arrear for people to walk their dogs and even poo bags provided. Now your probaley wondering why said moose for neigbours well on the other side of the perimater fence we saw a mum and baby feeding.||The park is situated very near town so you can walk in. Would I recommend this place oh yes and we hope to visit ourselves again.||Forgot to say very good...
Read moreWe are a family of 6 that visited Alaska for half a month in August '24. We came in a large rented RV. Although we only stayed 1 night in this RV camp, I wish we could've stayed here for the duration of our entire trip! It is by far the best RV park experience we had throughout! You could tell that the owners take great pride in their place. Every campsite is very spacious, there are no puddles or weeds around. The place is very well graded. They provide full electric, water, & sewer hookups. The showers and laundry room were spotless & very well designed. Showers are included in the camping fee, no need for quarters. It is not right near the highway so you feel like you are in this secluded forest. Picnic tables (provided for every site) seemed to be freshly painted! If you are RV camping in Alaska, make sure your itinerary goes through Soldotna & use this place-you...
