Dari Mart — Local services in Albany

after so many years of having this Dari Mart open i am so surprised that the business has not put more into this particular store. From a general stand point, this store has the ultra basic needs. If you live close by and need something to drink or some milk, they will have it. So its not bad in that aspect. Any further then a candy bar and a soda, dont bother stopping. the parking lot has about 12 spaces for a reason. i dont know how this store has had multiple people crash their car through the walls and Dari Mart hasnt bothered to remodel or improve anything. When i lived out in knox butte they put a brand new store in over there, and it even has a drive through. They stock things that people want and have a generally good selection of craft beers and food. This is what the West Albany store...

Never friendly. I've gone in there once a week for the past 2 months and I don't think I'll be going anymore. Every time I come in, no hello, welcome in or even so much as a smile. I get to the register.. Silence. Then: "receipt?" As if they're irritated. I came in to grab a Starbucks coffee one morning, didn't see any price tags on the majority of things, went to check out and the drink was $5. Outrageous for a single coffee. So I said nevermind, sorry but that's too much. To which the cashier replies: "well, it's Starbucks, it's always pricey." I get the same ones at any other store MAX $3.50. Over priced, unwelcoming and things aren't labeled. Hope they can do...

Seriously, I'm old and went in for 2 gallons of milk and a bottle of wine. I brought in my own bag for the wine and told I wasnt allowed to bring it in the store. Check the bags if you are afraid people are stealing dont ma ke old people try to juggle groceries. Think I'm done...
