Sportsman's Warehouse — Local services in Albany

I purchased a rifle online from their Albany location even though I live 30 miles away because that is where it was in stock. I went down to fill out my background check the following day and they were very busy and asked me to take a number which I did. I was 66 numbers away, and after 45 minutes it had only moved 4 numbers. I asked the girl at the counter if this was the only place I could fill out my background check information. She replied that I would have to wait just like everyone else. I didnt have time to wait all day to fill out paperwork that typically takes 5 minutes and that I would like a refund. She said she could not process a refund because the gun was not in stock. I told her I already purchased it online and it should be already be here with my name on it. She said they do not hold stock just because it was already purchased and she had just sold the last one in stock. So I asked if I had waited would I have been able to do the background. She said no because it's not in stock. So even had I waited all day I would not have been able to do anything. Such a colossal waste of time! I asked for the manager and he took down my order number and name and said I would be refunded sometime next week. I couldn't believe the terrible attitudes of the employees working as well as the whole system and lack of transparency and information available. There was more issues with other angry customers as well but this is getting long so I'll leave it at this. I will never go back to sportsmans warehouse for any reason and I suggest others think twice especially if trying to...

I bought two Reinhardt targets from the store yesterday totaling $400, 1 coyote and one big mule deer buck. Shot the buck three times and found it was extremely difficult to remove the arrows. It advertised on the box that it was easy arrow removal which is not true. I had also shot the coyote and took a little chunk out of it when I removed the arrow and had a difficult time removing the arrows but, decided not exchange it because that's just not right. I've never had any issue with the targets in the past. Today, I went to exchange the target and customer service and the manager denied my exchange due to the fact I had already shot it. You could not find anywhere that I had shot it, it looks brand new. The manager went as far as to tell me her and her fiance have some and they don't have that problem. They never even opened the box, offer to work out another solution... Nothing! It says nowhere on the receipt or did customer service tell me that if I shoot it I you can't return it. I can understand with firearms but not a bow target..... Really!! I wanted to stay local and buy from them because I have spent a lot of money there in the past and have usually have good luck. Unfortunately I bought from here and should have went elsewhere. I will definitely think twice before going there again.... EXTREMELY...

I have gone here pretty much since the place has opened. Like every store pros and cons but cons outweigh the pros. The main pro is for new guns they are MSRP or a little below, not unusual but compaired to shops with used guns during panic buying may be cheaper. The staff is usually friendly tho veing honest the sportsmans in indiana I've been to I would give more twords 3 to 4 stars as they are always better stocked than this one. Cons: They don't sell used guns so I really have no reason to buy from them a gun as for new guns I usually want something they dont have or they are out of the gun in store when I want to buy one (mk25 I had to buy elsewhere), the ammo is usually fair priced except 5.56 I could get much cheaper elsewhere but non panic buying ammo is usually ok. They dont carry 9x18 or tokarev ammo (if they do they keep it in the back so they can sell ammo for those who have those guns even tho they dont carry those as they are used guns only that use them pre 2000s generally). The staff may be friendly but really should just admit they don't know the answer instead of selling a product I dont need and didnt do what they claimed. Honestly people will complain about other shops in town as they are honestly not great but I usually prefer ace buyers even or...
