Wingstop — Restaurant in Albany

I have never had the pleasure of interacting with a more friendly staff than my experience here. My husband and I came when we were passing through the town and I saw that this was the highest rated Wingstop. And I was like oh that must mean something really good. When we walked into the door, we were immediately greeted by staff. The gentleman took our name, took our order, walked us through their specials and recommended that we take their survey. when I tell you that young man was doing more than his job. He was not only friendly and charismatic, but he was on top of everything and extremely happy to help. I used the restroom during our visit and I have to tell you that is the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen. I was just on a cruise and it was nicer than the cruise bathroom. My husband and I got a heaping amount of food and the wait time was not terribly long at all, even with a full eating area. When I say 10 out of 10 recommend, you will not find a better Wingstop, I truly mean what I say. The wings were nice juicy and large. Sauced up to the max. And the fries seasoning amount with extra seasoning was literally perfect. Extremely happy...

Let me start by stating, this place is SMALL. Not only is there no actual garbage can inside, but they've come to use a to-go bag (labeled garbage) and a roll of paper towels as their napkin dispenser.

The restaurant itself is waaaaaay too small for the crowd they get (being the only wing stop in Albany). You have maybe 8 two-person tables and two benches. You'd have more luck taking your food to go.

Now comes the real fun, ordering. First you're fooled by the door which is locked on the left side. Second, you have two registers which are prone to seizing up mid order which forces you to use the other. IF you get that far, you then basically are on your own till they call your name. Which could take about 45+ minutes past your expectations. Seeing how it's the only location in Albany you're about to wait outside. Where you can't hear a thing going on inside. Forcing you to either succumb to the crowd or play a game of In-n-out with the only functional door.

I ordered the 20 classic wings with three flavors lemon pepper(5), garlic parmesan(5), and Louisiana hot(10). I requested they be cooked well done and they were, that's the only thing that was good about the order. All of them were bland and lacking any type of flavor, the spicy ones were wet, the other two flavors were not and the other two flavors I'm assuming are dry rubs, but I could not taste any seasoning at all for the lemon pepper or garlic parmesan. For the price you'd think at least the dips or veggies would be included, but unless you're doing a combo which i did not you will pay ala carte for those. I was extremely hopeful and glad to no longer have to drive to a neighboring town for wings, but it looks like my family and I will continue to make the drive to BWW...
