Love this place, but today absolutely ruined my experience here. An employee overlooking the self-checkout was so rude and it was unwarranted! I walked up to the card only self-checkout and he immediately told me “press no on the screen” with an annoyed voice. No hello or nothing. He gave me no further explanation, so I repeated what he said as a question, and he just kept repeating “press no.” The screen was asking if I was paying with card so I pressed yes bc I thought maybe he got confused, and a scanned item was on the screen, so I told him. He came over annoyed and said “that’s why I told you to press no.” If he would’ve explained why I needed to press no in the first place THEN MAYBE I WOULDVE PRESSED IT, but at the time it seemed irrational to press no. At this point I was aware of his rudeness but I didnt let it bother me. Then I needed help searching up an item bc I didn’t see it on the screen, and I asked for his assistance, NICELY. He came over annoyed, found the item on the screen, and snickered to himself as he walked away. AND HE WAS ONLY ACTING THIS WAY TOWARDS ME! He was talking sweetly to every other customer at check out. And it’s not like I did anything to this man, he was rude before we even had an interaction. This is not to say all employees are like this, everyone else has always been super kind and friendly. This just tripped me up bc I genuinely don’t understand what I did to warrant that type of behavior. I get that we have bad days but I would never treat a person like that. It felt very targeted, too, since I was the only one he acted that way with. I’m 20, he’s about 50. What type of beef could he have with me. 1st time customer went about 6pm atmosphere was okay and prices were decent. Didn't notice a big difference from say Smiths but I would have definitely returned because it wasn't crowded like a big chain store is at that time on a weekday. BUT my 1 star comes from the customer service with the cashier at register 2!!! He was so damn rude and unprofessional. He was scrolling on his phone when I walked up to the register he didn't say a thing to me and looked at me like I was bothering him. There was no sign he was closed and his light was on so I started to unload my groceries he then slammed his close sign down and still said nothing. I placed bags of cereal on the counter and told him I would like to use the digital coupon but that I'm new to the store and the app so if he could assist with how I get the coupon to him. His answer was so unprofessional but we got the coupon added. My son started to place Rockstars on the counter and he yelled at my son saying he only needed one of each flavor. He gave him one of each and my son said we have 6 strawberry and 14 silver. The cashier proceeded to say to my son he didn't need to know how many there where because he had to count them his self. After I noticed he rang them up I asked if he had 20 of them and his response was well he said there was 14 and 6 isn't that what he said..!? My son is 11! I understand people have bad days but to take it out on a kid and mom just trying to grocery shop is uncalled for! I was so close to just walking out and leaving my groceries there but I told my son we kill them...

I live in the NE heights so I usually go over here on Saturday to buy and stock up on meats. I went there a week ago and was at self checkout and a man named Leigh carded my neighbor and myself for buying wine coolers. We showed him our ID's and he goes on to say my friend a older man smells like alcohol. Well he doesn't even drink alcohol! He then says he refuses to sell it to me who was buying it anyway and says and you don't have to come back here as well. Of course at this point I was upset and said a few words to him.I pushed the cart out to leave and he said your not taking it without paying. Now he is accusing me of trying to steal. I went to the security guard and told him how this young man was acting. He then started video filming me until we left. I couldn't believe him! A total unprofessional kid who was trying to use his self checkout authority over false accusations. Not cool and unfortunately this will probably continue to happen if he's there. I was going to follow up to store manager but I never did. Everyone else is really friendly so that was my last experience!! Managers don't let the title of yourself get to...
