I visited with a couple of my friends to try out the pupusas together. We've had pupusas elsewhere and were hoping this place would not disappoint. The staff was patient, friendly, and helpful. The food didn't take very long at all, but that could be because there was only one other party of guests there - although other pupusa places have taken much longer to prepare the food regardless.
We ordered a variety of pupusas and they were all made fresh to order with creamy melted cheese oozing out as we cut into them way more cheese than normal and very delicious. They all had different flavors based on the filling and were all delicious, but we really enjoyed the rajas (poblanos) and zucchini the most. The plantains were nice and soft and delicious and the masa in the corn tamale was amazingly soft and moist, but the crema they brought with it was not sweet at all - which didn't take away from it at all, but it said it would be sweet. The tomato soup on the side was nice and spicy and running, easily poured onto the pupusas as desired, and the cabbage was refreshing and perfect.
Overall it was a delicious meal and we will be...
Read moreThese were definitely NOT authentic Salvadorean Pupusas. I've tried several in my lifetime and these were NOT IT and the owner was rude when asking for more cabbage, for the humongous pupusas. I say humongous because the cheese and filling were NOT proportional AT ALL!! There was WAAAAAYYYY to much cheese (and I'm a cheese person). Be careful with the large bites as it's a big mouthful of cheese and choking is a real possibility. One would assume that given the amount we ordered, we would be given a large portion of pickled cabbage but no, you only get a little ounce (and apparently they measure the cabbage). I went back to request for more cabbage and was told it's an extra charge. If you've ever been to an AUTHENTIC Pupusa place, they give you a sandwich size bag and always have leftovers.
My recommendation is to drive to Santa Fe, NM and try "Pupuseria Y Lonchera La Providencia", for a more authentic...
Read moreHonestly I am very upset, the pupusas were good not authentic but around 70% of the way there. The curtido and salsa were the biggest disappointments. My biggest warning/complaint is to not be fooled by the prices on the menu. They up charge by 4% if you use card and don’t give you a warning so you don’t know that the food is not priced as advertise. Not only that I ordered food for my family, around 10 pupusas, they quoted me 20 minutes when the restaurant wasn’t busy and I sat there for 40 minutes waiting. The waitress/cashier was no where to be found for the duration of me being at the restaurant up until the food came out and she had to give me my food to go.
Don’t recommend going if you want a relaxing meal but I have hope they will do better in the future as they are local and a...
