A comfortable environment with staff that is kind enough to explain different techniques or styles. The prices were a little higher than what I anticipated, but he did a good job.
Edited Review- with additional photos- I went back to get the nails removed because I have a wedding coming up- I planned to come back here and get them done, but the way the staff treated me the second time I will pass.
My experience the second time: I was a walk in- was willing to make an appointment if they were too busy, which to me it looked like they were but the gal told me it would be 10 dollars to remove the nails and she is available at the moment. So, sure- I sit down and she basically proceeded to rip the nails from mine using another false nail while asking who did my nails. I told her who and she said that person no longer works there- then answers her phone and has a conversation with whoever it was while destroying my fingers. Once she was done on the phone she asked if I wanted a manicure- I said sure hoping she'd clean up the damage she created. The after pictures are the "manicure" she provided. The nails are completely destroyed and the top layers of my nails are basically shredded to pieces.
Now, I am sure there are places that practice this way- but this is the first time I have ever experienced my false nails being removed this way. It's usually not this painful what so ever and have never damaged the existing natural nail by removing the false ones. My hands hurt for 3 days after this and started to bleed at the cuticles. After talking to my friend she said I should include the photos of the nail damage I have just so others are aware of what could happen. Tbh, I wouldn't go here again. The prices are too high and looking back there was additional costs for things that are free at other places- like shaping the nail- also the inconsistency of the way staff treats people wasn't ok. Above all else- the damage done to my nails should have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend and I went to get pedicures today, which we always have a good experience but today wasnāt one of them. My friend was already going to sit down in the pedicure chair when a male worker (might have even been the owner) told her to go sit in the chair right next to it because it would be āeasierā for her to get out of. My friend didnāt really believe that was the reason they made her move so she asked them why sheās being moved and he told her it was a ābigger chairā and it would be better for her size š±š¤¦āāļøš¬. Weāve been at Mandy V a few times before and weāve never had this problem. Sheās been allowed to sit in chairs that were in the middle row and was never told anything about her size. Today was really hard because we went to get pedicures because sheās been going through a hard time with the passing of her mother AND being on a super strict diet, we felt like a nice girls day was a good reward. Sadly we wonāt be going back to this place because of the way the situation was handled. The āgentlemanā who told her to move told her if she didnāt like it she could leave, that wasnāt said it was basically yelled at her. Which is true, we can leave if we donāt like it, but weāve been coming here since Amanda and Vince owned the place and it sad to think we will not be back because of the situation that happened today. The two ladies who did do our pedicures were super nice and apologized a few times. Not one apology from the guy that started this all. Iām hoping this will help you guys train your employees to be more sensitive in situations like this. If you have a weight limit on chairs, it should be done on every visit and told beforehand instead of making up new rules as you go day to day. When you put someone on the spot like that WITH customers in the store, itās very degrading and embarrassing. I am sad I didnāt say anything sooner while we were in there, think Iām still pretty shocked with everything...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI moved to Albuquerque last August and have been looking for a nail salon that provides two main things: Quality pedicure with a fantastic massage and A nail tech who knows how to sculpt hard gel and showcased their artistry in how they sculpt the nail shape.
This nail salon exceeded my expectations! I walked in for a manicure and pedicure today and received the most caring experience Iāve had since moving here to Albuquerque. The lady who did my pedicure transformed my overworked feet and gave my calves the pressure they very much needed. Since only the owner knew how to sculpt gel polish, she graciously accepted my request for hard gel and curated the most amazing round nail full set. Iām very critical when it comes to my nails and nail service, I have a mentor of 9 years who owns a nail spa back in my hometown, and has been an artist all her life (Iām also an artist since childhood) so Iāve been very spoiled by her artistry and dedication to healing, natural, luxury spa treatments. Mandy Vās Spa was the closest I got to that experience Iāve missed from back home.
The only things I might suggest here would be to train everyone in the salon on more structured therapeutic massage techniques and offer it as an extra charge that people can add onto their service. As well as train a few more nail techs on the hard gel sculpting process and definitely learn and utilize hard gel application techniques that make the application process faster. If you do request the hard gel sculpt, just a heads up, trust the process lol .
Overall, I left feeling very beautiful and cared for. Iāve finally found my go-to nail shop here in...
