I only order one item whenever I go to a Sonic; it is a large hot fudge shake. The flavor is always intense and the shake is often so thick, one must utilize a spoon. Since I've been in ABQ, I have been to 3 different Sonic drive-in in the area and the the consistency of the shakes' flavor has been unwaveringly good. I would give the local Sonics a5 if the shake makers were more consistent in putting a cherry, whipped cream, and Graham cracker crumbs on the shake EACH and EVERY time. This does not happen happen consistently. However, it is a small price to pay for having real ice cream, an abundance of hot fudge goo, and a sufficient amount of ounces in the shake so that when you have finished it, you KNOW you've gotten your money's worth. The servers who bring the food are all competent but a few are outstanding. One teenage male who has waited on me twice has created his own persona. He affects this extremely outgoing gregarious personality which is almost over the top. ALMOST. I found him extremely engaging and when I tipped him 90 % of the bill, he acknowledged the tip in a manner that made feel as though I had paid off the mortgage of his poor impoverished granny's home. I found his theatrical performance fun, entertaining, and far more effective than someone shoving the food through my car window, taking my money, and then turning on their heel and disappearing. I encourage all Sonic car hops to exhibit their own true personalities when bringing food to the customer. If you, the car hop, get a tip, ACKNOWLEDGE it, for Pete's sake, regardless of its size. Your gratefulness may encourage the customer to be more generous next time. Whether it's a glowing smile, a friendly wave, or a formal bow, all customers like to be acknowledged. I must admit, once when I was waiting tables, the 9 church people left a tip that averaged 10 cents a piece. I was the biggest tip producer in the place, so I knew it wasn't my service or lack of it. The man giving me the tip even complimented me on the service. They occupied my table 2 1/2 hours drinking coffee that had to be constantly refilled. I desperately wanted to shove the money back in his hand and say, "You keep it. You obviously need it more than I do". Don't do that, MS. or Mr. carhop. I ordered my food on the app and even waited a bit before I left, so I could just show up and grab it, because I only get a 30 minute lunch and didn't want to have to rush. When I got there and checked in, two cars that pulled up after me got their orders and then a car that pulled up and ordered at a kiosk got their order as well. I had been waiting for almost 20 minutes at this point for my food, so I called out to the carhop and asked her about my order and she was INCREDIBLY rude. She was dismissive and didn't seem to care and told me she serves the food in the order that people show up and I told her I was there before several cars and then she asked my name, threw her hands up, and walked away. I saw more people get their food that came well after me and I called and left a couple of messages. Then she came back and shoved my food at me. Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat it as I had to be back at work, so it was cold by the time I had another break....

Went ahead and paid at the drive up, then the screen said someone was coming with my order, no one came for 10 minutes, pushed the button again, no one answered so I went to the drive thru, told them what happened, they knew who I was and said they'd give me my already paid for shakes, waited an additional 10 minutes in the drive thru lane, it didn't move so I finally just left even though I paid already because I waited more than 30 minutes for 2 classic shakes. Ridiculous!!!! Decided to go to another Sonic so I guess now I'm paying full price for my shakes. I don't know why they just wouldn't bring me the shakes I paid for.... there is another sonic closer that has screwed up my order the last 3 times i have been or taken forever, what's happening to the quality sonic?!?!?!
