JUST LOVE IT!!😁 The Alexandria farmers market is THE place to be on Tuesday afternoons.  It has a great Rural Route vibe on downtown Jackson St.  It's right across from the beautiful First United Methodist church. I wanted everything I saw, from fresh tomatoes (tomato sandwiches tonight !) to handmade dish soap from Garden District Soapery, which I WILL be purchasing next week.  We especially enjoyed the chicken pot pie fried pie 😋 from Debbie's Meat Pies, we should have bought two! The pralines were gone and so were most all of Hailles Hot Tamales by 5 pm. I did get some bread pudding and sweet potato pie I have to go back for the natural bug spray from  Branchoff Natural Care I got distracted and forgot to go back and get it. In my defense, there was just way too much good stuff there.   I purchased fresh whipping cream from Flowing Hills Creamery. There were two cattle ranchers so I bought one pound of ground meat  from each, I'm planning fresh tomatoes on hamburgers (yummy!) I'll update y'all on the taste later. Everyone knew their area of expertise and their products very well. They were all friendly, personable, and welcoming. I can't wait to go back.

Today was the first day I have ever been to this Farmer's Market. This place is a GEM! All of the vendors are wonderful and the selection is very impressive. The quality of products is impeccable. I'm so glad I finally went. All I did was Google Alexandria Famers Market, and BAM!........ Hands down made my day! In the photo are picked okra, homemade fire roasted salsa, a head of purple cabbage and Cajun seasoned pecans of which I could eat a bucket full.

My Grandson loved our first trip to the pumpkin patch! The workers were wonderful with him and when I didn't have cash on me, and they couldn't figure out how to process a credit card, they offered to give him his little pumpkin. Luckily I had a few bucks in my car. But even if I didn't, my Grandson would not have had to leave without his pumpkin and that was exceptional of them!

I love the market. There is always something new to discover. The vendors are friendly and eager to answer questions about local veggies. And they always have a favorite recipe for the 'how do I cook it'. And that's just the fresh stuff.

There are candles, soaps, fresh herbs and plants, home made gifts and sweets. And I might have an addiction to crown royal jelly...yeah, that got that too.

If you haven't been you should make a point to stop by at least once. You wont regret it.

My Vist was to the market off Jackson St....

Overall this is a great market for Alexandria and Pineville. There is a need for more farms other than Inglewood. Because of their operation they can set the price for the products and that might price out some of the people that need this market the most. The directors of the market need to diversify some of the sellers, the day i was there there were 3 booth selling lemonade. There was a Kona Ice truck selling, not sure what that had to do with a Farmers market. I hope this market...
