1 star because it's the only one of this kind around. 3 stars because of everything else.
The store is clean, but usually pretty disorganized with lots of things migrating by customers and never returning to their right size group. And most of the merchandise is a good price for a good product but there have been plenty of times I didn't check things well enough. A shirt had a small hole in it, a pair of pants had the elastic band broken on one side, and another pair of pants had the zipper slider missing which made them useless. And all these things when I've only shopped here a dozen times.
Taking clothes there is a whole other disappointment. I'm one of those people that want items back if the store doesn't want them. If you don't specify, then the store donates them. Well, the first few times I took my stuff in cardboard boxes and they told me that they must have taken it all because there was nothing there with my name on it. (There is no way of telling because they don't sort it while you wait and when you go back to pick up the unwanted items, your other stuff is already on the floor.) So, I started taking my stuff in a plastic tote with my name, #, and a note that reads "Do Not Donate. Please call" with my phone number. I started getting stuff back every time I took stuff.
The last but not least disappointment with being a seller here is that half the people call you but half don't. One of the girls that was sorting actually told another girl that she never calls anyone. She said this right in front of me while I was waiting at the counter. It's super frustrating because it can take a week for them to sort it and the store is on the other side of town. So you have to worry about making useless trips to see if your stuff has been sorted yet, or worry about your extras getting donated. I've been part of other consignment stores that have a much better handle on this.
In the end, I still plan to shop and sell here if for no other reason than it's close. But if I'm already making a trip to Canton, I take my stuff there, wait for it to be sorted, and receive my money on the spot. I just wish this place had better...
Read moreKid Zone is an excellent resource for small children's clothes if you are on a budget. They have a lot to choose from, it is mostly in very good shape. The clothes are organized by gender, size, then color, just like the large chain consignment stores.
Their toy and accessory selections are great for babies and toddlers. The prices are affordable, the toys are mostly in decent shape. Expect to have to look closely at anything you buy to make sure it is in good working order.
Once you get into adult sizes, however, the quality and organization goes down noticeably. They still have a lot to choose from, but it is jammed onto the racks, the size sorting is unpredictable (primarily due to the huge variation in sizing and how poorly labeled clothing sizes are...is it women's size XL? juniors XL? Petite XL??). The racks are so full it is difficult to see what is there without fighting with the items to get them out.
Toys for older kids are also more of a crap shoot. You may get lucky, but don't...
Read moreFriendly helpful staff. One in particular remembered me from a prior visit and accepted my merchandise even though they were overrun by drop offs because he knew I came from a far distance( an hour drive) to get there. Thanks for friendly service going...
