We were so excited to go here on Saturday because of the Instagram video we saw of the place; however, this experience was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.
The place is incredibly hard to find, and there is no parking very close to the front door, so it’s important to keep an eye on your kids in the parking lot.
I looked at their website Friday evening and was surprised to see that every person that enters the space has to pay the fee, all other play places allow a parent in free per kid because why charge full price for a parent when they are not actually playing? But I rationalized that 1 parent could go in with our 2 kids and the $15 fee for each wouldn’t be too bad.
Imagine my surprise (along with many others), that they actually charge $20 per person on the weekends. That genuinely makes no sense to me - why would a play place that changes nothing about their offering on the weekend be more expensive on the weekend when you are going to have even more foot traffic than through the week? Definitely a scam all around.
The manager on duty was incredibly rude to all us parents and was very sassy in showing us where it says it’s $20 on the weekends and that all people have to pay - this was on a different screen than their pricing page, and she was unapologetic saying we had to pay. At that point, the kids are so excited, of course we paid. It was $63 for the 3 of us, AND they cap you at 2 hours of play (also not mentioned on the website).
After we got in, the place was cool, but not worth the money. Then I saw the manger updating their website to be more clear on pricing, which honestly frustrated me - like why could she not have just offered to all us parents that said something about it being $15 on the website that cost and then update for future? What horrible customer service on day 1 of this place being open.
Some other gripes I have: The bathrooms are outside of the play space, so you have to exit, which is annoying AND they were so dirty and seemed run down. They didn’t have paper towel holders, so the just put rolls by the small sinks, which got soaking wet. They do NOTHING to ensure you are leaving with your children like some other play places does, so literally anyone could walk out with your child. Most of the toys in the stations did not work, which was very frustrating considering the cost.
Overall, I would not come here again - there are so many other places in the area that are just as good, if not better, and do not charge you so ridiculously, such as:
Tumbles John’s Creek Kids Empire Sky Zone Play Street Museum Funville
Finally, it cost less money to go the Children’s Museum in Atlanta -...
Read moreMy wife and I took our 4 year old daughter to Kids Avenue Alpharetta on their opening weekend. We had a fantastic experience exploring all the different stations throughout this indoor play facility. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the role-playing opportunities at each custom made station. From dressing up as dentist and doctor to working in a pizzeria and on a construction site. She also had a blast playing in the large ball pit area that included multiple slides, climbing features, and a few neat wall activities. All in all, there was a lot to look at and do during our visit to Kids Avenue. On the ride home our daughter insisted we return sometime soon and wants to bring along her cousins during our next visit.
I have read several of the reviews left by others. I agree that it is a little tricky to locate the Kids Avenue building entrance until you find the smaller sign located on the far left side of the shopping center. A large temporary banner being hung up or hopefully at some point a permanent sign or lettering located on the front of the building would certainly help. I believe the owner is currently working towards this goal. Speaking of the owner, my wife and I met him during our visit and both thought he was a very pleasant gentleman. Being as it was the opening weekend of operation he was very interested in gaining feedback from us and other visitors alike. Asking for our honest opinions and cheerfully receiving any constructive observations or suggestions we had for this amazing facility. Aside from making Kids Avenue a bit easier to locate when driving in, the only other suggestion we had was possibly lowering the admittance fee for adults accompanying their children. With that said, my wife and I would not hesitate to bring our child back here seeing how much joy it brought her to experience the wide array of activities and interactive stations throughout the Kids Avenue facility. I'll also add that all of our discussions with the staff while visiting were nothing but positive...
Read moreThis is a great new addition to the area. The play area itself is large, open and has a multitude of activities for a large age range when compared to other comparable play places in the area. I feel like the variety of activities for a larger age range definitely put them ahead of other play places in that respect. However, a couple of notes. First, it’s really hard to find. The address takes you to a strip mall and the suite listed is abandoned. After driving the entire strip mall twice I finally saw a sign in the tree line that said the entrance was on the side of the building. So, it’s like an additional game to find the door. I tried to call multiple times to see how to find the location and the phone was never answered. Secondly, they charge full price for adults. While this is a personal choice of the business, other comparable play places either allow free adult admission with paying children or really discounted rates for adults. The lack of phone, hard to find location with no close parking for handicap and full adult price is the reason for a non 5 star review. We will return in the future, but would return probably weekly if they changed their pricing structure for adults. Definitely a great place...
