Grocery Outlet — Local services in Altamont

We absolutely love shopping at Grocery Outlet. Even though the products change(I think it's part of the reason I truly enjoy shopping here), and everytime you go in there will be different items... We are NEVER disappointed in the quality and value. I'd also like to add that I am a retired business manager in the service industry, with a background of over 30 years providing and training others in customer service. In my opinion, Grocery Outlets team members are top notch in customer service. Every team member I've encountered has been friendly and knowledgeable about what is currently in stock at this location. I always find great new items and products to try and enjoy. The value is 5 stars in today's grocery and product market with the ever growing cost of food. Grocery Outlet is my first go to when I need to grocery shop. They have everything you would expect to find at a competitive grocer, plus. The G.O. keeps in stock a comprehensive section of sundries such as beauty and health items (such as shampoo, conditioner, razors, make-up, lotion, vitamins and supplements, and more), some clothing items, bathroom items (everything from linen towels to TP), kitchen-home (such as small appliances, pots and pans, cutting boards, linens, cleaning items and supplies, etc.), indoor and outdoor garden (seasonal plants, soil, and more), pet (food, treats, litter, clothing and accessories, and more), cell phone chargers and accessories, novelty and gift items, as well as seasonal items such as gift collections, decor and more. Further more, if you enjoy embibing with an occasional glass of cheer, check out their beer and wine section. There's always something new to choose from their latest stock. I personally have a very nice collection of wines, I've been stocking in my own private reserve from G.O. for several years now. This shoppers says, "You won't be disappointed with Grocery Outlets customer service, cleanliness, value and quality"! Hands down this store gets 5 stars from me. P.S. Remember to bring your shopping bags; but don't worry if you forget (like I often do.) G.O. also stocks paper bags and reusable shopping...

Short Version: Great people, cool stuff, lots of fantastic buys! I like it! Shop there.

Long Version: This place has some really outstanding buys, and not just in the grocery area. I've purchased cookware, pantry items, electronics, and floor mats all at far better than Amazon prices. (Yes, I checked my Amazon app while I was in the store.)

They have a small ethnic foods section, but it's very good, and again the prices are great.

Aside from groceries and and lots of other stuff, they also have a really extensive beer and wine selection at reasonable prices. I've even found nice Argentinian wines for under $5.

The best part of shopping at Discount Grocery Outlet is the people who work there. They are very friendly and helpful. I've never asked where I might find something without being walked to the item. The cashier's are always nice, patient and helpful. It's obvious that everyone there cares about the customer. Their customer service culture is excellent!

The last time I shopped there, Mike saw me and asked if I had gotten the hoisin sauce I was looking for a few weeks earlier. He told me it was back in stock and walked me to it.

I was blown away that he remembered, and cared enough to ask! It was only a $4 item. I had spoken with Mike exactly once, over a month earlier, for two minutes to ask about hoisin sauce. To be clear, that's the only time Mike and I had ever met. Discount Grocery is definitely NOT a Walmart experience!

Discount Grocery isn't huge, and therefore doesn't always have everything in every brand. What they have is often excellent and really inexpensive. Shop there first!

If you haven't shopped there, you should take a moment and check them out. They are lots of fun, and the good vibes...

We've recently moved to town and are still exploring. We saw the Grocery Outlet as we had driven by, but finally decided to go in and check it out one evening. Wow! First the variety and selection was more than you would expect from a bargain shopping mart. Secondly, the prices were truly a great value on most things. They have some off-brand items but also have many name brands as well. The meat and produce selections were not what we expected to see in a bargain store either. There was a great variety of primary brands of meats with decent pricing. The produce was amazingly clean, fresh looking, and great values. What we bought and took home has been delicious. The best part of our two experiences here have been the staff! They are out and available on the shopping floor. They are friendly and engaging as well as offering to help you find items. We had an item that we discovered was internally damaged after we got home. A simple call to the store and the problem was resolved on our next visit, quickly and efficiently without fuss.
