This used to be the Red Lion Inn for many years. The front desk lady told me that they renovated this motel 3 months ago. First, let me say this: I have traveled extensively and I used to stay in hotels regularly for work. I have also been a licensed insurance adjuster, and I have been trained to understand structures and how they degrade over time as well as how they are affected by weather. The phrase that comes to mind for this motel is "putting make-up on a pig." They have spent a lot of money painting and covering the past. You can put slabs of granite in the showers, but if you don't fix the rust issues on the doors, what is the point? Or the shower fans blowing into the dead space between the floors? That's just going to eventually cause mold issues (which the Red Lion had when it managed this property) But, paint on old structures aside, they have made a herculean attempt to update this property. It's just hard to tell if the issue is the low quality materials or the low quality help that did it. As for my experience today, under this new management, it was subpar for the price. The first room we were assigned to was musty because no one had flipped the unit properly- food was still in the fridge and a bunch of dirt and pine needle were at the edge of one of the beds. We called the office, and they reassigned us with many apologies. The next unit was better, but the fans don't work in the bathroom. After 20 minutes, they have not removed the regular bathroom smells. One of the 2 bathroom fans has no cover and is blowing directly back down into the bathroom, and the other is not moving at all, and probably broken. The granite slabs they put in the tub were not sealed properly, allowing moisture to get in. The thin fabric curtain for the shower doesn't cover the whole shower area and lets water through onto the floor while you shower, making a puddle for you to step into when you are done. A couple of the "fresh" folded towels in the bathroom had dirt marks on them, like someone dropped them on the asphalt accidentally and then put them up on the shelf anyway. Cigarette burn marks on the carpet. The A/C works great, but it's a residential unit put through a hole in the back wall, which lets little bugs in. There are holes around the light fixtures. Random holes in the walls. Sloppy paint all over the place. Old food particles on the floor next to the beds. Cobwebs above the main entry door. Stains on the sketchy recliner near the window. It's kind of like someone said, "how cheaply can we make this ancient building look like a premium hotel..." Well guess what? For $120 a night, this is a quite a rip off. This should be $70 max! The one saving grace is that the staff was helpful and pleasant.

Read moreThis Days Inn is ok. Our beds were comfortable. Seems like an older building and there are some updates that need to be made, especially in the bathrooms. Water pressure was weak and water temps were hard to control. Aesthetics need a tune up. Our t.v. was a nice medium size flat screen. Continental breakfast was alright. Not the greatest selection, but there are some hot food options which was nice. Pool is seasonal, so if you packed trunks and bathing suits, only plan to use them if you're staying in the Summer months. The location is decent, but takes a while to get to from 97. There is a restaurant that is easy to get to (basically in the parking lot), and you get a 10 percent discount if you're staying here. The bottom line for us is that if you're traveling through and happen to stay at K Falls, there are better options closer to the highway in the same price range. If you are in K Falls for the Fair Grounds, Days Inn might be a good option since it's right across the street.
Here's a live addendum to our review: we noticed what appeared to be a couple small spiders on us, good news is it's not spiders, bad news is that the bathroom is infested with ants which are all over the bathroom and our stuff in the...
Read moreWelcome to everything is broken. First room had gaping sink and shower holes. Shower curtain fell down before anyone could use it. Very hard uncomfortable beds. Didn't sleep well the whole time. No refunds and no upgrades available through Priceline. They are going through a remodel Manager said. She moved us twice after I couldn't sleep the first night. I thought she would move us to a remodeled room. No. Because there aren't any. Light fixture backing in bathroom ceiling missing in all 3 rooms! very ghetto. Broken old TV stands missing the edge bezels. She moved us again. Same thing different room. Hair balls on the ironing board. She came and I showed her then she got passive aggressive and asked if we were inspectors and perfectionists and told my kids to check out motel 6 and come back. Some kind of gritty material at the bottom of the tub couldn't get it to wash down. After she left us in the last room had a bloody pillowcase. I didn't bother telling her because I knew it didn't matter at that point. We were exhausted from a long trip and it was already paid for. The only good thing about this motel is the friendly staff. Days inn Never again. They are definitely not 2 star. Next time I will choose something better...
