My original review is below. Since my review I have spoken with Amber in the office at the Longwood store. I appreciate you discussing this incident with me. Thank you Amber!
I frequently visit Petty’s as I live right next door. So much good food and specialty items. I’ve only had 2 bad experiences and both times were within the last 30-40 minutes of the store being open. I felt each time that I was putting the employee out while they were preparing to close. This evening, as I stood at the deli meat counter, Anna was sweeping the floor behind the counter and another woman was removing spoons from the salad bowls in the case. Neither acknowledged me until Anna finally asked me if I had been helped. She then took my sliced deli meat order. I ordered roast beef. When she asked if I’d like anything else I said salami. She informed me that she should have known this first. As a customer am I to immediately know everything I want? Isn’t part of shopping by standing and deciding what else you’d like to order next? As this was clearly an issue with her, perhaps she should have told me she needed me to decide on every single item I wanted and that I must tell her the entire order at one time. I had not even decided I wanted salami until she was slicing my roast beef. I also decided I wanted cheese as she was slicing the roast beef. She said because I told her roast beef first there would be blood on my salami and cheese. As she reprimanded me, I stood there staring at another slicer right next to the one she had just used. She then said, “I guess I could wipe off the slicer.” Seriously, she would tell a customer this? You guess? I’d guess it’s part of customer service to kindly and without verbally making this the customer’s issue for her to wipe off the slicer and slice the next item. With her comment, it was quite evident wiping the slicer off was putting her out. I took my roast beef, walked away and paid. Extremely rude on her behalf and very poor customer service with...
Read moreWhat a HUGE disappointment and HORRIBLE experience. I heard great things about this place and decided to take the 45 min ride with my cooler and ice packs and check it out. I was one of the first people in a line of about 10 waiting to get into the store. As soon as the door opened I was ready for a great experience.. boy was I wrong. I asked for 2 racks of Spare ribs and the woman behind the counter went into the back and got the vaccummed sealed 3 pack that you would find at your costco or sam's (first disappointment - not a real butcher) OK, no biggy. Since there were 3, she opened the vac seal and took 2 out, wrapped them in wax/freezer paper and then proceeded to HEAVILY wrap in platic/cling wrap. It was not till I got home that I realized WHY she wrapped the meat so extensively. Upon cutting away the plastic wrap, I was immediately hit with an unbelievably horrid smell of bad meat. I don't care that the meat was bad.. but to think that the woman behind the counter would give me bad/possibly contaminated food, is just unacceptable. How completely unprofessional. I will never go there again. I'm sure most of the time the meat and the service is just fine, but this is just unforgivable..
Another side annoyance- they had one loaf of bread, from the day before.. and when I asked if they had anymore they said they were baking some now.. are you kidding me? Your doors open at 10, and you don't have any bread in the over beforehand.?? And, there was woman stocking shelves..at 10am?? It seemed like they all got there at 9:55am.. just another example of an unprofessional establishment.
You, lady behind the counter, should be ashamed of yourself. And the owners/mangers need to get their act together..
I'll just go to costco, since it's obvious it's...
Read moreWent to Petty's today to get some items to have at the house. Anyone who has been there knows that they have excellent service, amazing quality meats, and well has many other items. (Try the Piggy Wings and the BBQ brisket burgers. You will thank me later.) Due to everything shutting down, they were absolutely a bit busier than normal. You would have never noticed it here. They still were able to accommodate everyone with the same hospitality that you you expect on a normal day. What really stops this this off this visit is 2 instances that really shows why this place is amazing and the there is still a great deal of goodness left in this world.
One item that you have to have here is their fresh made garlic parmesan bread. Usually the first thing you smell when you walk in. I love this bread and it is always moist and perfectly baked. Today, with the world coming to a halt, they didnt have any available. Something that broke my heart, but I could try and live without. Just as I finished checking out, I heard that they had just finished baking and had just come out. I wasn't to keen on making another purchase and just said "it's carbs I don't need to eat." The amazing woman behind me tried on insisting on paying it forward and paying for some for me. As kindhearted as she was, I could pass on it. As she kept insisting as I am walking out of the door, the amazing woman behind the deli counter come and says "take this with you" with a smile and a single loaf in a bag. It really is the small things in life that can really change your day. I will continue to visit Petty's as long I live in this area. So I hope my little review shows you the quality of service that you can expect when...
