BAD! Andrew came out on Monday, May 29, 2017, and advised us of what we were facing. He immediately jumped in and stated that he would need to replace the gas line from the house to the meter. He was aware that my husband was working on our sprinkler system as we showed him where the problem started. He gave us an amount and told us that he could have our gas back on by Tuesday afternoon. We hired them. Andrew informed me that they would be here by morning, and didn't show up until after lunch. I informed him immediately that we had a death in our family, and I needed to leave out of town no later than 4:00 p.m. for a memorial. He said they will try. The time went on and I asked him if he would be done, so that I could go to the memorial. He abruptly stated, " I can stop right now and come back next week! But you will have no gas until I return." Not only did he not show up when he said he would, but now I had to choose between family or having hot water and a stove to cook our meals on! Needless to say, he was not done until after 5:00 p.m. and I missed the memorial! Andrew was very slow at getting things done. Almost as if he was "riding the clock." As the day progressed, they found a gas leak above our furnace in the attic. He advised us that the cost of the repair would be $414 + the $1750.00 for the gas line replacement and a $442 charge for the search in the attic, plus charges for any other leaks. He told me that if they repair the leak above the furnace and his equipment still showed a drop in pressure that he would then have to tear into our walls. He mentioned how costly that would quickly become. He also stated that the repair in the attic would take 3-4 hours to do. Then he advised my husband the alternative, $2200.00 + the $1750.00 charge for a whopping $3950.00. He pushed us into a corner and made us feel as if we had absolutely no choice, but to pay the near $4,000.00. I finally told Andrew that we needed time to think about which route we wanted to take and would reach out to him first thing the next morning. He then handed me his electronic pad requesting me to sign an authorization form. I asked him what it was for and he stated it was to authorize him to re-plumb the whole house "in-case" that was the route we would go. I advised him that I was not going to sign something until the work was done, or until I decided that was what I would do. Then he said that he needed to collect at least half of the total ($4k). I advised him once again, that I would pay for the work he did, which was trench out the yard and put in a new gas line. Andrew said we would take a gamble if he repaired the leak above the furnace and find out that there was still a leak somewhere else. My husband and I felt extremely pressured to re-plumb the entire house. After Andrew left, my husband inspected the work and found that he placed the gas line in the middle of the area where my husband needed to repair our sprinkler system! Andrew advised us that he cut through 4 of our sprinkler lines! He also informed us that either we could fix them ourselves to "save money" or he could fix it for another fee! Other companies said "if they break it, they fix it!" We also found that we lost our cable signal to our T.V.'s when the tech went into the attic! Once again, another expense out of our pockets! Fortunately we were directed to another reputable plumber, who came out immediately and gave us a much more REASONABLE PRICE to repair the leak in the attic! $285 vs. $414.00! They promptly came out the next day (Thursday) by 9:00 a.m. and repaired the leak in 20 minutes (not 3-4 hours as Andrew quoted) and corrected the problem! I am glad we didn't pay another $2,200 as Andrew pressured us to do! We had to get Andrew to come back out Friday to move the gas line he put in the wrong spot. He simply "pushed" the gas line over. He left the cover off and the wires were exposed! And after a few minutes after he left the gas line returned to same place again! This has been the worst experience with 1-800-Plumber!

strongly advise against using 1-800-Plumber +Air & Electric of the Texas Panhandle. This company sold me a $2,214.00 "fix" that immediately failed, and I have documentation from their own subsequent visits proving the original diagnosis was a misrepresentation and technically incorrect. The Problem and the Misdiagnosis ($2,214 Wasted) In August 2025, I contacted the company because of a persistent and severe sewer odor coming from my shower drain. I specifically requested an inspection of the shower drain and vent system. The technician quickly dismissed my request. He claimed, based on "plumbing science," that the odor was actually due to a venting issue with my lavatory (sink). He assured me that installing two small Studor (air-admittance) vents on the sink drains would "fix everything" and eliminate the shower odor. The cost for this minor job was $2,214.00. The Lie and Immediate Failure I trusted their professional advice and paid the full amount. The repair failed immediately. The sewer odor from the shower drain was exactly the same. An independent plumber later confirmed that installing Studor vents on a lavatory drain has absolutely no effect on a separate, primary shower drain odor the advice I received was a technical misrepresentation of the solution. Proof of Technical Deception (Their Own Documents) When I called them back in September 2025 to complain about the failure, the same technician came out. His notes on Invoice #123747556 (dated 9/25/2025) confirm the lie: 1. He noted he came out because the customer was "still having issues with sewer gas smells after we'd come out to install auto vents on the sink drains." (Proof the $2,214.00 job failed immediately). 2. checking under the house. He found a "multitude of issues" including backwards/upside-down fittings, unvented toilets, and covered up shower drains proving he originally failed to perform the necessary diagnostic work and sold an ineffective solution. 3. The correct fix they then proposed was a full drain repipe under the house with estimates ranging from $16,507.00 to $26,718.00. In short, they charged me $2,214.00 for a meaningless fix and then immediately tried to upsell me $16k-$26k to fix the real problem they were too incompetent or dishonest to diagnose in the first place. Unprofessional and False Response to BBB When I filed a complaint with the BBB, the company provided a grossly unprofessional and false response, clearly attempting to cover up their technical failure. They claimed I was uncooperative and that I "act like he doesn't know what we are talking about." This is a complete lie and an attempt to deflect responsibility. The technician's own notes show that when he arrived for the second visit, I had already "had someone open up a new access panel so that we could actually check under the house," which proves I was fully cooperative and actively trying to find a solution. Conclusion: I was sold a service that was technically incorrect, failed immediately, and was grossly overpriced. When confronted with the failure, the company's official response was to lie about my conduct. This pattern of misrepresentation and poor technical competence is unacceptable. I asked for a full refund for the $2,214.00 service and they completely refused. I would never recommend business with them. They’d rather snake oil sell you for an easy $2k when you’re asking for help than do the actual work it takes to complete the job done right and leave all parties satisfied. It’s one thing to hear the horror stories about this state but now I’m seeing firsthand how Texas businesses can dodge responsibility, and how consumers are often left to fight alone. The system doesn’t always protect the people it should A perfect example of what the rest of the country thinks Texas is, one big scam

We needed a new AC unit as ours went out in the middle of a heat wave with the weeks daily temperatures ranging between 105-108. The Texas July heat is something that Can make a person particularly miserable not to mention the danger associated with this type of heat. I have had a monthly membership with this company for over a year and my experiences has been that some technicians are better than others- it seems to be hit or miss. Being that I had a monthly membership I was scheduled quickly and had a technician at my home the very next day. The capacitor to my stage-2 unit was out and would need replacing along with a few other safety measures, line flushing and insulation. Somewhere during the capacitor installation the compressor blew out in my AC unit turning a $837 dollar job into a $5000 dollar job as I would now need an entire new AC Unit. My husband scrambled to secure a private loan through our bank and we scheduled the unit for installation the following morning. Two technicians arrived and early that morning and went straight to work installing the new unit. I opted for a stage -1 unit as a stage 2 was not within our budget. My furnace in the attic however was Designed to be used in conjunction with a stage 2 and is a top of the line furnace. The two technicians finished installing the new Unit pretty quickly and seemed efficient although one of the technicians was inappropriate on a few instances but let it slide as I know heat can make folks act our of character ( I’m an ER nurse and I know the power and influence that heat, humidity and the full moon have over us humans ) - I did notice that the furnace had never engaged and there was ZERO air movement air movement coming from the vents. I questioned the technician and he recycled the unit a few times and insured me it would “ramp up” in 5-10 minutes and they left to the next job ( they were extremely busy as many people were without AC in my hometown due to the Heat wave) I waited a few hours and still nothing. I knew something was not working correctly as my furnace was so powerful that I often grow annoyed With forceful blowing it produces from the vents and always opted to put the fan on low. My prior unit kept my home a brisk 69 degrees when set at 72 on the thermostat. It was extremely efficient until it died. (RIP Carrier unit, you and all your fancy bells and whistles and complicated thermostat will be missed) my husband called the company to let them know we were having no air movement ( my house was still setting at a temp of 78 even with the AC unit thermostat set to run at 68) the AC Unit was running fine but the furnace had never engaged to push out all that glorious 68 degree air! I tried explaining this to Shaun the manager that called me but he was not Trying to understand me in the slightest. He finished the conversation by telling me my furnace had nothing to do with their AC Unit installation and he would call me back on Monday to see if anything had improved-this was Friday mind you and Saturday’s temperatures were forecasted to be a searing 108 degrees. He then chastised me a bit stating that other people were completely without AC and his team were focusing their efforts on those people. I understood that. I was also without AC and had just paid his company almost $5000 to install a new AC unit that while working was not engaging my furnace so I Too was also without AC. He was blew me off completely and told me that if on a 100 degree day if my AC Unit was cooling my house and reducing the temperature by 25% then their Unit was in fact efficient. He just could not understand what I was trying to relay to him. A stern phone call was then had between my husband and their call service. Then, Kenton Guidry arrives. Diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes and had to blowing blissfully in 29 minutes.he was kind, efficient and fixed the mistake of the prior technician, it wasn’t wired correctly. Thank you, Sir! It’s people like you that make a difference in this world. A true businessman and gentleman. I...

strongly advise against using 1-800-Plumber +Air & Electric of the Texas Panhandle. This company sold me a $2,214.00 "fix" that immediately failed, and I have documentation from their own subsequent visits proving the original diagnosis was a misrepresentation and technically incorrect. The Problem and the Misdiagnosis ($2,214 Wasted)

In August 2025, I contacted the company because of a persistent and severe sewer odor coming from my shower drain.

Proof of Technical Deception (Their Own Documents)

When I called them back in September 2025 to complain about the failure, the same technician came out. His notes on Invoice #123747556 (dated 9/25/2025) confirm the lie:

He noted he came out because the customer was "still having issues with sewer gas smells after we'd come out to install auto vents on the sink drains." (Proof the $2,214.00 job failed immediately).

checking under the house. He found a "multitude of issues" including backwards/upside-down fittings, unvented toilets, and covered up shower drains proving he originally failed to perform the necessary diagnostic work and sold an ineffective solution.

The system doesn’t always protect the people it should

A perfect example of what the rest of the country thinks Texas is,...
