I'm impressed. Sadly, that is something I don't get to say very often. I was working in Amarillo this week, and wasn't sure where I could buy a decent bottle of wine. Fortunately, I drove by this World Market and I knew they usually carry one of my favorite wines - Sea Glass Chardonnay. I didn't see it, so I asked a nice gentleman that was working there if he knew if they had it in stock. When it wasn't where he thought it would be, he didn't give up. He checked back stock, all the shelves, looked it up online to see it they carried it, and after an exhaustive search he found it for me! So often the easy answer is no, and they move on to something else.
I was so impressed I went back today - I wanted to know who went above and beyond so I could share my story with his manager, and make sure that I thanked him. We need more people like Patrick that aren't just putting in their hours, but really want to make the world a better place. You definitely made my stay in Amarillo much more memorable - thank you for going...
Read moreI absolutely love this store. There's something in there for Everyone. Large large gorgeous selection of unique and beautiful items for the home. Also, a large Awesome wine selection among many other things, fun cans of unique beers or ginger drinks, etc or ciders. Like a cousin to Williams Sonoma almost, but way bigger store. (You gotta see their furniture items, area rugs and lighting selection. Unique hard to find candy? It's in there. Jewelry and furniture and wall art and soaps and boho curtains? Yes all that too). Beautiful big kitchen area too! From dishes to utensils to Chinese iron teapots. Reminds me also of a gorgeous Pier 1 store too, but World Market is its own unique beautiful store. All kinds of neat finds in there. Creative flavors of bottled drinks, flavored coffees, hard to find European pastes and condiments and sauces for cooking...So much for the home and kitchen in here! If you want to "Win" with your girlfriend or wife, Go HERE!! Lol. A great store, pretty...
Read moreI don't get to This World Market very often. I like world markets in general but did have one bad experience. My husband had given me a $50 gift card after asking me what I might like for Christmas. I thought it would be fun to buy some of those little baskets size bottles of wine and cheese. I used it once and then next time I went back they told me it didn't show any cash balance at all. What's the point of buying a gift card if you can't use it? That is no reflection on this particular location just on the company. The store seems to be very clean and organized. I rarely encounter an employee unless I'm checking out. It is a good place to buy unique items from other countries if you're looking for something your standard grocery store wouldn't carry. That's mainly what I go in for other than just to look around once in awhile to see what's...
