Request that Ulta Beauty Corporate review the operations of this store. Cost data cannot be the only factor that should be reviewed in the operation of this franchise location. This data is misleading due to being in Amarillo and the nearest second location is in Ulta is in Lubbock.
The appearance of the store is lacking and feels unsanitary. I have been in this store a few times with my spouse and every time it feels that they never finished stocking items from the last time I was there shopping. Every box is abandoned by employees as you watch them having conversations in the middle of the store. I am all for the improvement of employee morale through positive conservation, however, can this be accomplished while products are being stocked? These packages in the middle of the floor and bottom drawers open only create trip hazards for customers.
Improvement in the cleanliness of the tester/sample products is needed with great haste. There are more than enough employees in this establishment to be assigned to one area and have responsibility for that area to clean and organize. Walkarounds and management follow-up on the cleanliness of the samples and the general appearance of these areas needs to be accomplished. Your prices are outrageous why aren't your standards? I have one idea as to why your standards are low; your sales numbers are high so management must think that the customers love coming and nothing needs to change. I think this is a misguided approach and customers only come here because it's the only location... If you are reading this review and you have tried some of the samples can you relate to the unsanitary conditions that may be present?
Salon area: Cell phone usage in the back of the solan area needs to be managed. If you ever have to use the restroom after waiting in checkout for an hour, I'll get to check out later in this review, then you might be blessed with learning someone's family history. The doors are thin I can hear them can they hear me? Scary thought... Also, why isn't their anybody getting there hair cut, dyed, etc... Is the management of this store hurting this side of the business as well? Makes you wonder...
Checking out, oh my, bring a lunch or snack and you might not starve before you get done. Four registers with only two active and 20 customers in line. While the remainder of the staff is talking in the middle of the store, not stocking or being productive. Then a manager comes and gets on a register walking past the hoard of employees without saying a word... Don't be scared of your employees and have some managerial courage.
In conclusion, Amarillo deserves better from you as a corporation. I really hope, other than Yelpers, Ulta reads this review and takes action. Senior management, Corporate, or the owner should go in unannounced on an afternoon to see...
Read moreI made a hair appointment at ulta beauty expecting great or at the very least mediocre service considering how much I was spending, especially when I never usually spend so much money on a simple haircut. It surprises me that such a highend and well known store would hire someone who can’t even do a simple trim. My original stylist got sick so I was asked if I wanted a new stylist or if I wanted to just move the day. Looking back I definitely should have just waited but I decided to just book with a new person named Ashley a heavier Hispanic woman.
When I got there everything was fine at first the shampooing and conditioning process was a little strange to me because she washed out the conditioner as soon as she put it in. Forgive me if I’m wrong but the whole point of conditioner is in the name. To condition your hair and for that to work it need to be left in for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Something I’ve been doing since I was like 6. It could be just some crazy miracle conditioner that works within the second you put it in your hair. But what would I know 🤷♀️.
However that’s not the reason I’m writing this review. Despite the fact I wish it was, there was a much greater problem. Before she started cutting my hair I made it so clear that I wanted my hair well past my shoulders since I’ve been growing it out for the past 2 years. I even confirmed that with her so there was absolutely no miscommunication. She started cutting however she pulled my hair to the back so I couldn’t see how short she was cutting, but I wasn’t worried about considering I gave her crystal clear instructions on what to do lmao.
She’s finished with the cut and I pull all of my hair to the front looking into the mirror in absolute shock and disbelief. It was all the way above my shoulders and just looked bad overall. As I’m fighting tears she tells me that it’s an extra $20 for her to blow dry my hair like I wasn’t already being charged $50 for a bad haircut 💀.
So I just went off the front and paid for my heavy priced bad haircut. After I got home, me and my mom were looking at hair extensions however they were $400 - $800 to get them done in a salon. So now I’m patiently waiting for my hair to grow back out after losing 2 years of progress.

The girl asked me if I wanted to just get the money on a gift card or if I wanted them to hold what I was exchanging while I went to pick out something else. So I told them to just hold it and she told me it just had to be around the same price. So I went and picked out some other stuff and when I came back, she then informed me it had to be the same brand as what I was exchanging. So I asked her to just put the money on a gift card and I’d buy it that way. Then she said she couldn’t put it on a gift card. Would have been nice to know before I spent time picking something else out that I actually wanted. So I told her I would just go pick something else out once again. And might I add, I’m a makeup hoarder. There’s not much Anastasia Beverly Hills products I don’t already own. So I went back and picked out a pallet (that I already own) since I “had to get something from the same brand” and they didn’t have much of anything else.
