Update on Havertys: Kelly, the manager had left a message he was going to check into getting something done on getting my recliner repaired, however has since started distancing himself from the issue. GUARDSMAN has approved repair abs told Havertys to order the part, which Guardsman has informed me is on a slow boat from China. Havertys has never gotten back to me on this or returned my calls. This is a switch that can be ordered through various places for 39.00- 50.00. Havertys could have gotten this part a month ago if they were that concerned about a customer. Point is Havertys sold the protection plan, but they are not going to go out of there way to make things right. Suggestion, dobt buy a protection plan. Get the oart number, order it on Amazon and watch a youtube on repairing yourself, saving hundreds of dollars and months of waiting for Guardsman or Havertys to do anything. Update as of 4/21/25: Store manager returned call and said they are looking for part else where to beat ship date out of China 6/20/25. I told him Ebay has it. They may not want to expedite after all. Ebay not on their shopping list. Back to...
Read moreWe had the pleasure to be served by Ms. JoAnn Davis and she was absolutely wonderful. Soon as we walked in she was there to greet us pretty much at the door. I explained to her what I had been sort of looking for and it’s like she knew exactly what was in my mind because her very first pick was it! I couldn’t believe she had found it that quick, so we took a stroll around the store and went to several other stores and kept coming back to that particular chair. After a few days of making sure that was the chair, we then moved on to deciding on how we wanted to customize it. She was so patient with my indecisiveness and even suggested that we take a break for two days and just sleep on it then come back to it. That was the most wise suggestion because in those two days I literally stopped thinking about it and woke up on the third day and knew I had made a decision on the fabric. So please give Ms. Davis our biggest thanks again! She’s great and we will definitely come back to Haverty’s...
Read moreIt took 20 years to discover that you sold as brand new, a defective office furniture set built with rotten wood. A credenza drawer broke when I opened it today. Didnt think much of it as mass produced furniture is generally not well built these day so over the years glue dries out and things fall apart. We emptied the drawer, pulled it out so Gary could repair it and guess what he discovered? He discovered an old, non factory repair. Hmmm...it was not inexpensive, it was brand new; no goodwill purchase here but we may have been better served to have bought from goodwill rather than haverty's. See pictures. Notice vertical piece of wood in first picture. Second picture shows the other side, without the repair. Third picture shows the termite infested wood that was holding the drawer up. on the "repaired" side. So, it wasnt glue that failed, it was the rotten wood used. Im sickened and wonder how much other rotten would may be hidden elsewhere in the set. ...
