Absolutely amazing 👏 I love how helpful the employees are. I love the fact that this store is not pushy unlike the other place here in Ames that is located in the mall. Each and every time I have had nothing but absolutely friendly service. Completely outstanding as a matter of fact. I was blown away at how helpful they were even on the phone when calling to see if their truck had come in so I could stock back up on my magnetic eyeliner for my lashes! I explained to the employee how I did not have time to order online as they were out of said product because I was getting married in Vegas in 3 days. She promptly looked over some stuff and let me know when the truck would be there that would definitely have the liner on it for restocking. When I called to check if it had arrived the employee placed me on a brief and I mean very brief hold and let me know yes it had come! She even went as far to ask me if I wanted the product held at the register to ensure I could get it before making my drive. I also love the fact that when I don't need help and I say that I don't they do not ask you a million times and follow you around. That situation can make customers feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I will be forever shopping at this store as I feel like the culture here and the training of the staff is top notch 👌🏻 🙌 This store also has plenty of options to choose from and can suit just about anyone's needs. They have much more than makeup and even offer beauty services such as hair and brows.    Read moreI have always loved going to Ulta back in my hometown. The employees were always so helpful and make the experiences memorable when looking for new face care products. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Ames location. Today I went to Ulta with a couple of my friends, we showed up together, but went our separate ways as we were looking for different things. Our visit was under 30 minutes and within that time, 2-3 employees asked me if I needed assistance 8 times. Not to mention they followed me down every. single. aisle. Every time I turned around, one of the same employees was behind me. After my friends and I met back up, I pointed out how often they checked on their customers and my friends were confused because no one had offered to assist them or asked them if they needed anything. The only difference between my friends and I is that they are not black women. As soon as I made my way up to the checkout line, the employees who were on the floor my entire visit, somehow also just managed to walk up to the counter at the same time as me, even with tons of customers still on the floor shopping.    Read moreI am a diamond member at ulta, and every time i go to pick up an order there’s always something wrong. i was just called by someone at the store instructing me to return to the store with an item that i PAID for online, and go in and REPAY because the associate didn’t scan it.. like?? that’s really not my issue. so now, i have to take time out of my schedule (which is always full by the way) to go return this item?? because the associate clearly wasn’t trained properly??? make it make sense. when i told the girl on the phone “so, i have to return this item because you all made a mistake?” she chuckled and said “yeah”.. i’m not even upset at the associate, who handed me the item because it was clear she was trying to help, but she was just poorly trained. management clearly sucks. if there was another ulta near i’d go.. but i really don’t recommend the one in ames. again, i’ve placed several online orders and there’s always an issue. i wouldn’t even give them a one star review to be honest. i only gave them the one star because that’s the lowest review you can give. i’d give them a negative four...
