I first want to start my review with I love the office people. They truly hire amazing, patient, helpful and friendly service every time I go. They are funny and overall make these apartments that are horrible slightly livable. The buildings are the worst, I cannot explain all the different ways that they suck. Our bathroom counters are not screwed into the wall so if you lean on them they come off. If you take a hot shower the power will automatically shut off even if the door is open. The drawers in the kitchen or always breaking even if we have nothing in them. We have had multiple electrical problems like our air conditioning, heating, outlets not working, alarms randomly going off( not the fire alarm). And if their system goes down on the electrical side and your bill spikes up to less than 200 but above 150 they will only give you $60 for a mistake on their side. Our apartment got so hot once it was 101, I could not stay here and my son could not stay here because it is a deadly risk for children. This didn’t happen once or twice but 5 times. If you like your peace and quiet, like your privacy for anything other than drinking constantly, and partying this is not the place for you. I can hear the girl upstairs if she holds in her sneeze. I can hear them if they’re walking to their apartment in the morning for a nightly trip to the bathroom. The walls are extremely thin, for example, one time the girl in the apartment next to us tripped on the stairs and I heard everything. We all have each other’s phone numbers just In case we have a problem, we don’t want to get each other in trouble. The people upstairs one time decided to throw a party 20 people or less our entire apartment was shaking so bad we had to call the police to get them to shut it down. Once our pool opened the people from Copper Beech Laverne Apartments we’re constantly here, starting fights, breaking glasses and never following the rules and so, of course, it was closed because of them. They are stricter now with who gets in and who they are with, in order to get into the pool but in the beginning, there were people from Madison Square at our pool passing out flyers to their apartment and water bottles. This is one of the worst apartments I have ever lived in. We did not eat in the bedrooms yet we have a massive ant problem, we also have huge issues with spiders, once my son got Bitten in the face twice, and other little bugs that just keep their way inside. We pay 1,180 dollars a month and this place isn’t even worth that. Many people did there would you really early because they did a free coupon or gift card in September so please don’t let those fool you. The gym and office people are amazing but the...
Read moreUPDATE FOURTH TIME TRYING TO GET THIS POSTED AND THEY KEEP REMOVING IT. My third time trying to get this to post. I am getting tired. I am sickened by this apartment complex. Where do I even start. I have a step-daughter that lives here and I just want the future residents to know the kind of place this really is, and not what they make it out to be. Lately she has constantly been having to remind maintenance to come and things are broken all over her apartment and stuff has not been replaced or fixed as promised. Just 6 days ago, there was a man unhinged with a gun in the middle of the night, and this man got arrested on this apartment complexes property. This is not a safe environment for these young college students to be living in. The cops have been here EVERY SINGLE DAY the last week knocking apartments doors for god knows what. Within the last couple of days my daughter has told me this information. Yes, you heard it right, it's all happened within the last week. There is a maintenance worker there that my daughter said makes her extremely uncomfortable. He has made several comments that were inappropriate. I have advised her to lock her doors and carry pepper spray anytime this man is present. I can't remember his exact name, but he is a bit taller with blondish hair. Now, moving on to my absolute biggest concern. Which is ironic considering these are ALL awful. The property manager himself, John. My daughter has NOTHING good to say about this man that works for this awful place. He has made several racist comments in the clubhouse that have been heard, he's extremely unhelpful and rude, and she is constantly complaining about the fact that she brings up issues to the property manager yet nothing is done, he truly wastes your time. She witnessed him several times being disrespectful to other tenants here, he walks around with an attitude and never has anything positive to say, and EVEN THE WORKERS HERE COMPLAIN ABOUT HIM! This job is not meant for someone like John. Something needs to be done. If the wrong person hears these racist comments and overall professionalism of the Maintence man and the property manager, this apartment complex is going to be in a lot of trouble and not just from a bad review, but hopefully legal. Do not waste your time at all here. It's an absolute train wreck, and there are no workers to back you up. Once your in a lease, your stuck, and that is the worst feeling being somewhere you are unsafe. My daughter will be staying with me until we can see what can be done. This will no longer be tolerated!!!!!!! still...
Read moreWhile The Quarters at Ames has the potential to be a great living community, my experience has been largely frustrating due to consistent maintenance issues, poor communication, and a lack of follow-through from management.
The biggest concern is the pool — which is heavily advertised as one of the main amenities — yet it has barely been functional all summer. It’s been closed multiple times due to ongoing issues, with little to no clear communication about the cause or timeline for reopening. If you’re going to promote luxury amenities, they need to be reliably maintained.
Maintenance as a whole is unreasonably slow. Requests often take far too long to be addressed, and there’s an unprofessional attitude that makes residents feel like their concerns are an inconvenience. Many problems were clearly present before move-in and should’ve been resolved beforehand. Residents are paying too much to be treated like afterthoughts.
The front desk staff is friendly, but upper management needs to re-evaluate priorities. There seems to be more effort going into social media presence than into the actual quality of living here. It’s disappointing to see TikToks and Instagram posts being pushed out while basic repair and amenity issues go unresolved.
If management truly wants to improve, here’s what needs to happen: • Hire more responsive, professional maintenance staff who can resolve issues in a timely manner. • Communicate clearly and consistently about delays or closures, especially for key amenities. • Focus less on image and more on resident satisfaction. • Conduct regular inspections and proactive maintenance before move-ins. • Take resident feedback seriously — not as complaints, but as an opportunity to improve the property.
This place could be worth the cost if the effort matched the promises. But until then, I can’t recommend it in good faith. Residents deserve better than excuses and delays — they deserve reliability, respect, and...
