We love our new kitchen cabinets and we would not hesitate to work with Jeff at Cabinets OC in the future.

Reading this full review may help you decide if the installer you are considering is the right fit. Because you’re not just giving someone your money and hoping for a great result, you’re giving them access to your home and family. For us, that came down to a matter of trust.

We had approached many of our neighbors who had work done on their homes and none of them would refer their contractors as they were unhappy with their results. So we began interviewing several kitchen cabinet installers ranging from the Home Improvement stores to some of Newport Coast’s most elite kitchen remodelers and cabinet installers.

The first thing that stood out for us at Cabinets OC, besides their welcoming and friendly nature, was that their designer/project manager invested the most time explaining the process and actually designed an initial kitchen plan during our visit. Then, they came to our home and continued with measurements and suggestions to improve our design. Plus, we found the quality of their cabinet materials, cabinet construction, door designs and finishes equal to the very best we had seen. We were happy to find that their initial estimate was within our budget.

Additionally, Cabinets OC had their own on-premises cabinet manufacturing facility right off their large showroom floor. I cannot stress enough how important this is. You see, with all the other installers, if a cabinet box didn’t fit or was defective, they had to re-order that unit from a cabinet manufacturer and our kitchen could remain unfinished for 30-90 days until that manufacturer could replace the unit and the installer could schedule the installation. As you can imagine, this disconnect between the installer and manufacturer also complicated the warranty process. Since Cabinets OC had their own factory and installers, this scenario couldn't happen to us.

Still, we were concerned about making the right decision. What really gave us confidence to contract the project, was when Jeff, who owns and runs Cabinets OC, stated, “If anything comes up that you are not happy with, call me and I will try to do what I can, to make it right.” Hearing that, we felt we could trust Jeff and his people.

I can say that the couple of times something unexpected came up, Jeff was a man of his word and helped us quickly arrive at a solution that equaled or improved our original design. Jeff always answered his phone, texted or called back, the few times I called.

Jeff personally came to our home at major stages of our project and for the final walkthrough. This really impressed me, as Jeff and his project managers have multiple residential and commercial projects throughout Southern California. We found that his installers, (Cabinet, Countertop, Electrical and Plumbing) were friendly and excellent at their craft. Since we remained in our home during the project, having punctual, respectful and trustworthy workers who kept our home clean and safe was extremely important.

Our beautiful cabinets look like they’ll last forever. They are made with thick, quality grade plywood boxes and drawers, with wooden door frames and drawer fronts. We are very happy with the quality of materials, the seamless fit and the flawless finish.

I had the BEST remodeling experience of my life with Cabinets OC and it's easy to compare since we remodeled several times in the past with different companies. We redid our kitchen completely custom and refaced the laundry room with this super honest and professional company. Jeff, the owner, is the most Zen guy you could ever meet. He is calm, problems solving and always with a smile on his face. His project manager, Fernando, has the same great attitude and their workers are super competent and hard working. Rosas for the cabinets, Rutillo for the electrical and plumbing work, Miguel for the lacquer, Jorge and Cesar for the wonderful tiles work, Jaime the fabricator (who is a true artist in my opinion!) for the quartzite in my kitchen and quartz in the laundry room, and the other workers too who came to work at our house (sorry...I don't remember their names!) always brought a smile and outstanding working skills.This company puts the customer first. They are not done unless they see you super happy with the job! I mean it. If there is a mistake, they'll fix it without pointing fingers or finding excuses (so typical of other contractors). Jeff's prices are fair. The quality of the job amazing. The customer service is superb. They always call you and text you back (both owner and project manager) and they do it fast too!! Before hiring Cabinets OC I called randomly some of their old customers and they all talked greatly about their experience with this company. So now I join the large group of their happy customers! If you plan well in advance and don't make big changes to your project, your custom cabinets will be ready EXACTLY when promised and the job finished exactly when promised. The did my custom kitchen and my laundry room in 30 days plus touch ups (from kitchen demo to quartzite fabrication and installation, plumbing, electrical work, tiles work, removing wall, cabinets installation, beams and shelves installation; laundry room cabinets refacing, tiles and quartz installation). The result is more than what I expected. Other companies I interviewed for the same job told me they needed a minimum of 8 weeks for doing the above. Another aspect I think is relevant is that they care for your home: when they did the demo, they left everything clean and without dust! They came to work every day because Jeff uses his own crew who obviously enjoys working for him. The job from beginning to end goes on very smoothly. This was a major remodel (custom kitchen and refacing/remodeling of the laundry room) but it was stress free even under Covid 19 circumstances and I think it has to do with Jeff and Fernando's happy and calming attitude to work in sync with their customers. I reluctantly gave this company 1 star, only because of the exceptional efforts of employees Renee and Anna. Their dedication and hard work made an otherwise terrible experience somewhat bearable.

Unfortunately, the rest of my experience with this company was filled with multiple errors and a glaring lack of accountability from individuals who could have easily rectified the situation. Despite the fact that it took over a month for a simple project to be completed, it still was not done to my satisfaction.

I was repeatedly assured that this was a small job for the company and that their work was top-notch. However, the level of incompetence I experienced makes me question what their performance would be like on a larger project.
