On a Sunday afternoon, I visited this establishment to purchase an adapter and glue for a waterline. The attendant took the old adapter and handed me a new one. I then asked for the glue I would need to use. She handed me one after reading the can and said this is the one you should use. I paid and left to do the repair. I then went home and read the directions on the can and proceeded to repair. Followed the directions to the letter, but when the water was turned back on it started spewing water. After calling a plumber, he looked at the glue and said wrong glue. Ace sold you a CPVC adapter with a PVC glue. After paying the plumber, I contacted the owner...who was on the receipt asking for comments regarding my experience. He answered and after hearing what happened he said he would talk to the person who sold and recommended this to me. He first told me that if I was doing plumbing I needed to have a little plumbing experience. It would have been an easy fix with the right glue. He apologized only after I said...”you aren’t even going to apologize?” Wow!!! So please have plenty of experience with any product you buy from them. DO NOT ask any questions or recommendations. I will not be shopping at Ace Hardware any longer. I have been in their rewards program for quite some time and have taken advantage of discount coupons. I had a 20 dollars off if you spend 100.00 so I presented it when I purchased air filters and shelving. I didn't realize the filters had a sale if 1.00 off. The gentleman who rang me up did not point that out. He took my coupon and I saw it ring up on the screen and he tore my coupon up and threw it away. When I got home no 20.00 off on receipt. So I went back and questioned this with the manager and she said your stuff was on sale. I advised her I wasn't told or given choice to not purchase items at that time and get my coupon back. Small town store with friendly employees who are always looking to offer assistance 😀! When purchasing heavy items, they always ask if I need help loading my car...even today after purchasing a 20 lbs bag of birdseed! I declined today, but other times it was nice to have someone help, especially when I purchased several bags of river rocks. They have a good selection of various things for home and garden.
