UPDATE: We are now on our 6th retreat here and they have a LIFT! No worries about the stairs, you can use the lift out back to ride up to the retreat center or send all your luggage up. We absolutely love this retreat center.

We just returned from our fabulous Quilting Retreat at the Angola Retreat Center. Tammy and the staff were so easy to work with. We had booked our retreat over a year ago and it was everything we had dreamed about. The retreat center is yes, upstairs, but the staff helped us carry some of our items upstairs. The staircase is tall, due to the wonderful tall ceilings in the old beautiful building, but the stair treads are a nice size and it is not a difficult climb with the handrail.

Once we were upstairs with all our stuff, we got organized. There are plenty of workspaces for sewing machines etc. There is a nice cutting area and ironing boards. There is an all-in-one room with tables for sitting and sewing, couch for lounging and cooking and dining areas. The space was wonderful. We could sew during the day, and watch TV at night, or continue to sew all night and still watch TV. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pans and flatware, so we only needed to make a grocery run once for lunch and dinner items since a continental breakfast was included with the per night stay cost.

The bedroom area was really a large C shaped room where we all slept. It was like a big pajama party. What fun!

Our sewing group stayed last weekend at this retreat center and it was great again this year! The stairs are nice and wide, easy to maneuver any equipment you would have to get upstairs, but if you are not able to bring everything the retreat center does provide sewing machines and other tools. We got double the projects done that we did last year because we were able to relax and sew away in the amazing sewing themed environment!

Tammy, the owner, is always great to work with and made herself available if we ever needed anything. She always helped us out when we were in the quilt shop looking for new projects or projects needing some more fabric!

Great selection of cotton fabric and only a small selection of flannel. I am grateful to have a local shop to get quality fabric; this is definitely worth the stop before and instead of JoAnn or Hobby Lobby! She has a great selection of quilting and sewing supplies. The fabric was not as categorized as some quilt shops I have been in but things were neat and it was easy to get around. The owner was kind and accommodating!
