Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Ankeny

Small store. Clean. Limited selection of items and sizes of products. Good meat counter. Some of the employees are very friendly others are not. One of them consistently decides that I don’t need my groceries taken out even when there are 3-4 heavy bags. Helping customers to their car with groceries is supposed to be one of the perks they offer to Customers and it’s not supposed to be optional. I don’t receive that perk and it is one of the reasons I went there because I am handicapped. I now stop there only when I need a couple items that I can carry out myself. Meat department 5 stars. You can ask them to adjust things to fix their sales. Cheap Example; boneless pork chops are on sale. They will send the. Through the tenderizer to make them perfect for a crockpot dish. They are so professional at the meat counter.

I do love the rest of the store, but I cook exoctic sometimes and have to go somewhere else.

Hate their closed on Sunday as some weeks unable to shop on Saturday....

I love Fareway. It has been quite awhile since I have shopped there. I shopped there today. I love the small town feel of the store yet having everything their competition does. I have forgotten how they carry out the groceries for you. The customer service is very friendly, warm and professional. It is better than some of their competitors. I definitely will be coming back...
