ALDI — Local services in Ankeny

I've always done my grocery shopping at Hy-Vee, but was looking forward to having an Aldi nearby. From the first trip I knew this would be my new regular for groceries.

It is simple in the best kind of way. The hectic struggle of finding a parking spot at Hy-Vee compared to the orderly lot at Aldi was the first area of relief I noticed. The shopping experience built upon this less complicated and hectic way of getting groceries. The aisles were clean and easy to navigate. I wasn't overtaken by analysis paralysis. Although there aren't a bevy of cashiers like other places the checkout is still simple and quick. And each time I look at the receipt I'm pleased to find that I've spent less than I would've anywhere and for truly quality groceries.

The only negatives are that they definitely don't carry everything. If you need a particular spice or nonstandard item from produce they probably won't have it. Also, it isn't immune to the grocery rush hours and at times it is more difficult to get through the store. That said even at peak times I'm still in and out in half the time it would take me at Hy-Vee.

I've switched over completely and only go to other stores to fill in the occasional gaps. Oh yeah, if you aren't used to using your own bags be sure to remember them, but if you don't they have some for purchase. And don't forget to bring a quarter if you plan on...

I've been shopping at ALDI for over a year now, and I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed with the store. As a budget-conscious consumer, I was initially drawn to their affordable prices, but what keeps me coming back is the quality of their products.

The first thing you'll notice when you enter an ALDI store is the efficient layout and streamlined shopping experience. Their easy to find exactly what you need without getting overwhelmed by rows upon rows of products. Plus, their prices are always significantly lower than traditional supermarkets - I've saved hundreds of dollars over the past year!

The quality of ALDI's products is also top-notch. From fresh produce to meat and dairy products, everything I've purchased has been of high quality and comparable (if not superior) to national brands. Their private-label products, such as Simply Nature and LiveGfree, offer amazing value for the price.

Lastly, I want to mention the excellent customer service at ALDI. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the products they sell.

The worst ever experience I got comparing to shopping from other places (Costco, Hyvee, Wholefoods, World Market Vons, Albertsons, Safeway, Trader joe's, Ralphs ). This happened on February 14, Valentines day evening few minutes before 8pm or at 8pm exactly, the store was just closing; this employee (Mikaela) she was at the door and she saw me coming in to the store and she quickly got into entrance door and locked it without even looking to me and apologizing for closing. that was the most unprofessional behavior I ever witnessed in anywhere in the world.
